*** 2024 GRANT FUNDING NOW OPEN *** Cornwall Women's Fund is now accepting applications for our 2024 grant funding! We aim to support community projects in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly supporting women’s mental health. For this round of funding projects with a focus on perinatal mental health will be given preferential consideration. In 2021, a team from Oxford University undertook in-depth research into the needs of women and girls across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. They considered existing research where it was available and interviewed charity and community leaders, and women from across the county to get a true picture of what really mattered to them and which areas it was difficult to find funding for. (Read the report here: https://bit.ly/3QLpgdv) One of the 4 key areas in their report “Understanding what matters to women and girls in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly” was women and girls mental health, identifying a particular lack of support for those accessing perinatal mental health services. Our Members have voted the area of Women and Girls Mental Health for our 2024 grant funding and we are now accepting applications. From our public roads and highways to our NHS, cleansing, schools and colleges, universities, apprenticeships, trains and buses, social care, social work, community safety, business support, community development – those essential public goods that we all rely on, all seem to be cut off from that wealth too. We can see the effects in towns, villages and cities across the length and breadth of Scotland, from weakened council services to the rise in community foodbanks. That’s bad for all of us. But it’s a disaster for people on the lowest incomes, because those public goods are often a vital lifeline in difficult times, and a platform that people can use to build for the future. Without them people are trapped. It’s also bad for business. They rely on roads to get goods to and from markets. They need public transport to get their workers in on time. They rely on the next generation of workers being educated and skilled. When a worker is sick, they rely on the NHS to get them well enough to return to work. They often rely on public grants and loans, and public support with paying their rates. In a myriad of ways, the public good is the bedrock of private enterprise. https://lnkd.in/eewPPech

Such an honour to be asked to present a certificate, on behalf of Social Value International and Social Value UK, to Offploy.org yesterday in recognition of its outstanding social impact. In this photo, I'm presenting the certificate, certifying a social impact report prepared by Charlotte Turner of Bean Research Ltd, evaluating the social value optimised by Offploy. Simon Whitfield of Offploy, also received the certificate to recognise the key role he played in engaging stakeholders fully in the process. Offploy is an organisation that "makes the world a safer place by supporting people at risk of offending; empowering them to access greater opportunities and achieve their full potential." If you get the chance to look at the real-life impact stories contained in the report, you'll understand why I was so moved and inspired by meeting many of those impacted by Offploy's work. Offploy wouldn't exist, of course, without Jacob Hill 🔐 HILL and I couldn't write this post without giving him a mention. 📣 Trading for Good: New funded programme 🚀 It's a great feeling to launch these new programmes for social entrepreneurs and community businesses. The photo below was taken right at the end of the programme I did with School for Social Entrepreneurs in 2018 and I just wish I had done it sooner. The programme was really transformational and I came out of it feeling like a "proper social entrepreneur" finally. Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Partnerships in the social sciences are hugely rewarding for academics and the graduates that become Associates alike. Projects in the public sector are rare indeed (this is the second in the UK since the sector became eligible again). 📢 New Grant Funding Opportunity 📢 Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, is to invest approximately £3 million in innovation projects in the creative sector. This funding is from the Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) Create Growth Programme and has a regional focus across 12 regions, including Greater Lincolnshire. The programme support package will comprise of three complementary strands: business support targeted at the creative industries, finance and investor capacity building activities. The aim of this competition is to provide a package of targeted support to high-growth creative businesses to scale, build investor networks and reach their potential. West Yorkshire Innovation Service New 2024: innovation grants We have launched two new innovation grant schemes for 2024. Ignite and Amplify will help accelerate collaborations between SMEs and innovation specialists. Ignite The Ignite scheme is open to West Yorkshire SMEs in any sector who are looking for innovation support from us for the first time. It can help you to bring in third-party innovative expertise to take your idea from concept to prototype and beyond. Ignite vouchers are worth up to £5,000, and will provide 50% of the funding for innovation projects. These projects typically last for up to four months, and no longer than 6 months. Amplify The Amplify scheme supports collaborations between SMEs and innovation specialists on projects in key areas like healthtech and net zero. If you have a proven concept that you’re looking to commercialise, it can help to accelerate your development process. Amplify grants are worth up to £10,000, and will provide 40% of the funding for innovation projects. New Funding Alert: The UKSPF Herefordshire Research and Development Innovation Fund is open for applications with businesses encouraged to submit an expression of interest (EOI) as soon as possible. The UKSPF Herefordshire Research and Development Innovation Fund is a revenue grant scheme that has been funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The aim is to help Herefordshire businesses to: + Increase productivity + Access new markets + Develop new products / processes and services leading to new employment opportunities and a more resilient and competitive business community Grants of between £5000 and £24,999 are available to Herefordshire businesses to: + Enable the procurement of external support and revenue items or activity to undertake research and development and innovation projects and + Develop and adopt innovative new processes, products and services The grant can contribute up to 80% of the eligible costs.
