About us
We create opportunities to help young men and women help themselves out of poverty. Some 500 million young men and women live on less than $2 a day. We help them with the skills to become independent. We aim to create opportunities for nearly 200,000 people to be healthy, secure and resilient by 2020. Youth unemployment is a global threat to economic and social stability. We change lives by giving 15-24 year olds access to skills, finance and networks in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, UK, and Ireland. Two thirds of young people in developing countries have no stable work or education.

'I want to let young women know that you don't have to give up in this life' Aged 29 and running her own retail enterprise to support her studies as an adult learner, Blessings is investing in her own future by harnessing the power of education and commerce. She is learning at the YMCA Liberia Polytechnic programme in Gbanga, Bong County. 'Life is so sweet when you get to where you want to be, so keep being strong. Never give up, whatever situation you find yourself in today'. Blessings acts as a local supplier of goods, like fashion and household items, which she resells for a small profit. With many communities poorly connected to urban centres and a demand for decent clothing and household goods, young entrepreneurs like Blessings are providing a much needed service to their community whilst also supporting themselves. The money Blessings makes is helping to pay for her school transport and living costs so that she can continue to gain new skills for her future career.
