We briefly mentioned how the WPG Olympics would be starting soon in our newsletter and here on LinkedIn. 🎖️ So, what are the WPG Olympics? The WPG Olympics seeks to encourage the team to get out and do activities (whether it’s walking/running or team sports like volleyball!), with a bit of light-hearted competition (in a very competitive group of OPs) as three teams battle for the Olympic title. The ‘complex’ scoring system levels the playing field to encourage the entire team to participate, whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just taking the dog for a walk. This year, our teams are Guatemala, The Bahamas and Thailand, with ease team led by one of our new starters. 🎖️ Harriet Grace chose Guatemala, "I chose Guatemala as our team for the WPG Olympics mostly because I will be travelling there whilst the Olympics are happening, so it was the first country which came to mind! It also has a nice flag for any flag nerds and makes loads of chocolate and coffee so what's not to like!" 🎖️ Joshua Scasbrook chose The Bahamas, "I chose it due to its flag making me think of sunny holidays as well as having the clearest waters in the world and the natural beauty of the 'tongue of the ocean' and also filming the awful Jaws 4 movie in the Bahamas." 🎖️ And finally, Alison Gibbs chose Thailand as "it’s one of my favourite countries. I’ve been there many times – backpacking, on holiday, on honeymoon – and in my opinion it’s one of the most beautiful countries; from the people and culture to the scenery and food. I quite fancied being reminded of Thailand daily while we compete in the WPG Olympics!" Want to get to know our new starters even more? Check out this blog post: https://lnkd.in/ejxaHcqj

Each week, we ask our team a question. Most of the time, it's pretty light-hearted, and sometimes, it's really lighthearted. Did you know that yesterday was #NationalIcecreamDay? Our team sure did, as we asked them about their favourite ice cream. From banana to chocolate to pralines and cream to a nice vanilla with a Twirl crushed and sprinkled over it, we got some great responses. Do you agree? #MeetTheTeam #WeeklyQuestion

If you're signed up to our mailing list, you'll have heard the news that we recently welcomed three new starters. Alison Gibbs, Joshua Scasbrook and Harriet Grace have all recently joined us here at WPG. After giving them all some time to settle in, we sat down to ask them more about themselves, including: - Whose career is inspired by their younger brother? - Who wanted to be a music therapist before finding occupational psychology? - Who specialises in psychometrics, data analysis, employee retention, and generational and cultural workplace attitudes? From their career histories to their pet peeves, read more about our new colleagues here: https://lnkd.in/ejxaHcqj And if you haven't already, sign up to our mailing list here: https://lnkd.in/d_sQPHN #OccupationalPscychology #NewStarters #Welcome

In today's world, the ability to adapt is crucial. However, leaders who frequently change their vision risk eroding trust and damaging workplace relationships. This phenomenon, known as flip-flop leadership, can lead to significant issues. Flip-flop leaders often bounce between decisions due to external events, new opinions, or self-doubt. Such inconsistencies can undermine trust, kill morale, and damage relationships. Trust is essential; without it, teams cannot function effectively. Constant U-turns can confuse team members and lower their morale. Middle managers, often tasked with conveying these shifts, bear the brunt, leading to strained relationships. Curious to learn more about the impacts of flip-flop leadership and how to navigate them? Read more: https://buff.ly/3K9iloM #LeadershipStyles #WorkplaceDynamics

🎾 With Wimbledon well underway, it's a perfect time to reflect on what our favourite tennis players can teach us about leadership. Their dedication, resilience, and strategic thinking offer invaluable lessons for the workplace. Here are a few key serves from our favourite tennis stars: 1️⃣ Consistency is key: Just as champions like Roger Federer consistently perform at their best, great leaders must also maintain a high level of consistency. Every day is a match, and every match point counts! 2️⃣ Stay on your toes: In tennis, players need to be agile and ready for anything. Leaders should also be prepared to adapt to new challenges and opportunities. Flexibility keeps us in the game. 3️⃣ Rally the team: Tennis legends often speak of the importance of their support teams. Similarly, strong leaders know the value of rallying their team, fostering collaboration, and ensuring everyone feels valued. 4️⃣ Ace your strategy: The best players plan their shots carefully. Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic have world-class strategies to win - leaders should also develop clear strategies, setting goals and mapping out the steps to achieve them. A well-thought-out game plan makes all the difference. 5️⃣ Bounce back from setbacks: Even the greatest players face tough losses. It's their ability to bounce back that sets them apart. The Williams sisters are absolutely iconic for persisting in the face of adversity. Leaders should embrace this resilience, viewing setbacks as opportunities for growth. As we enjoy the excitement of Wimbledon, let's take inspiration from these tennis greats to 'serve' up excellence in our own professional lives. 🎾🏆 #Wimbledon #Leadership #WorkEthic #Tennis #Teamwork #Resilience #Strategy #Consistency
