Powerhouse Women of Web3 🚀 We are always getting asked about careers in Web3 by our community, so it was really special to put on an event in partnership with Web3 recruiters Plexus Resource Solutions to answer everyone's burning questions! There was tons of great advice shared - Plexus will be sharing the best clips with you over the coming weeks! One of the points that cropped up several times was that of resilience. Web3 is still nascent as an industry, one panellist had witnessed multiple rounds of layoffs in just a couple of years, but also seen huge growth. Looking to get a job in Web3? Here are 3 tips… Last night Plexus Resource Solutions partnered with Women of Web3 to host a panel and networking for women wanting to start or continue their career in Web3. The three main takeaways from our panel guests were: 1) if you are trying to get a job in the space DOWNLOAD THE PRODUCTS! Use them. Set up a wallet. Buy crypto. Know the user journey of the company you’re interviewing at. Be really IN the space not just interested! 2) your social / ‘Web3’ persona is hella important. If you’re trying to get a job in crypto without an active twitter or farcaster profile you are going to be overlooked. Companies and recruiters will look at who you follow, who follows you, what you share… get off insta and back on twitter. 3) understand the crypto market cycles and how much this impacts Web3 jobs. At certain points it will be easier to get in without experience, other times they will have pick of the litter and only be looking for crypto natives. Knowing what’s happening when will help you be prepared and resilient. Bonus observation: All of the panel landed in Web3 by accident. Maybe a job in it doesn’t look like how you think it will. Lauryn Ifill was hired as a grad with no experience to train as a Web3 recruiter. Lorna Hutchman had a chance meeting with someone at a party that led to a connection in Web3 and Ox Bid decided to start her own platform after a background in consumer focused companies. Be open minded. Maybe something half in is better than not getting in at all!

Had a fantastic morning on Friday for the Women of Web3 conference on AI, hosted by Lauren Ingram, with Claire McAllister and Rosa Rolo Key takeaways; 🌐AI is not to be feared! There may be hyperbole in the media but it can be harnessed and used for good - it's not coming for your job.... 🌐Communicate with your teams about it's use in the business - as always, clear communication is paramount for any new tech, but particularly with one so complex. Offer quick sessions on different uses that might apply to your business, and encourage employees to test and learn alongside their day job 🌐It's up to you how much you use it - as a tool for hard graft and long projects (90% of the work), as a partner to bounce ideas off (50% of your work), or just as inspiration (10% of your work, to get the project started) - it's so nuanced that it can be what you make it There were some incredible speakers on the topic, including Google themselves - it really opened my eyes to the potential and scope of AI.
