In The Irish News today, our Managing Director, Lorraine Acheson highlights the untapped potential of women's enterprise in the UK, highlighting a possible £250 billion boost to the economy if women had equal opportunities to start and grow businesses. Emphasising the need for inclusive funding, access to care and dedicated support for female entrepreneurs, Lorraine is Co-Chair of the Women’s Enterprise Policy Group; a UK-wide network forged by women entrepreneurs, academics and gender informed business support organisations all of whom are committed to accelerating women-led start-ups from genesis to growth. Lorraine says: "Co-creating a path forward for women’s enterprise to flourish is fundamental to the Group, and after joining the network as co-chair, I very much look forward to helping push forward this agenda from the front." 👇 Here's Marguarita McNally, our Senior Marketing Executive who has been part of the Women in Business team since 2020. Marguarita’s the person behind our social media, website (except when it decides to crash), and the mammoth marketing for our Conference & Awards. She’s also your go-to contact for member profiles, news, and if you’re feeling adventurous, our member blogs. And yes, she also creates our meet the team posts - so she’s officially out of awkward things to write about herself! 💬 What's one thing that she wants you to know about Women in Business? "That it's a not-for-profit organisation, each person's membership fee goes back into the running of our events and programmes - lending a supportive hand to another woman’s career. So if you don't manage to make an event some month, you're still playing your part to help create a more inclusive economy."
