FOUNDRY WEEKLY(ISH) UPDATE 4.0 | It's been a while, but here's a few snippets of what we've been up to over the last few weeks... 💡 We had a very productive workshop with our clients Plas Y Brenin who came to visit us in MediaCity. 💡 Then Mark Bottomley, James Kay and Ian McKay had another workshop with Action Medical the following week, who it was great to chat all things Race the Sun with. 🏅 And while we’re mentioning Race the Sun, Ian McKay has signed up for another ‘Hike, Bike, Paddle’ challenge in September. He must be mad! 🧘♀️ Alesia Harrison and Kate Booth enjoyed a sound bath meditation session to celebrate International Self-Care Day. 🤞 We’ve been busy working on an exciting pitch, so fingers crossed. 🚀 It’s all steams ahead on a new product launch for one of our clients.

🧘♀️ WELLNESS WEDNESDAY 🧘♀️ What a great way for Kate Booth and Alesia Harrison to spend their lunch hour. They're becoming regulars to the The Wellness Hub MCR classes that ARRIVE Workspace organise for the community and this one was even more special. Today, on International Self Care Day, a day to recognise how important it is to prioritise self-care, they tried a meditation sound bath. This is a meditative practice involving deep sounds filling the room and body to help you relax and let go of any stress and worries. All the added extras were a lovely touch and both Kate and Alesia, have comeback this afternoon in a much more positive and relaxed state (not that they we're negative to begin with 😊). So, this is your reminder to take some time on international self-care day, or any other day, to do something for YOU! It could work wonders. #internationalselfcareday

✍️ NEW BLOG POST ✍️ Let's face it, AI is everywhere, and isn't going anywhere. We’re a curious bunch by nature and we’ve risen to a fair few technological advances in our 25 years of business. We wanted to look into the industries who we thought might benefit the most from embracing AI rather than hiding away from it. We've collated our thoughts in our new blog post. https://lnkd.in/eSUP2UMu

Yesterday was all W's with Wimbledon Wellness Wednesday. We were treated to some strawberries and Pimm's by the team at ARRIVE Workspace to celebrate Wimbledon and it got us thinking. Health and Wellbeing is a bit of a speciality of ours and we thrive on helping a business improve people’s lives either through advanced healthcare, supporting mental and physical wellbeing, promoting active lifestyles or simply helping people to get more out of life in a positive way. We like to work with companies that make life better, and we practice what we preach. Wellness in the workplace is very much high on our priority list, but this doesn't have to be all retreat days and extravagant gestures. The small day-to-day differences are the biggest way to create a work-life balance, reduce stress and encourage a healthy mindset. We're not encouraging excessive drinking in the workplace, but what we are saying is maybe take time away from desks to go for a lunchtime walk together, or pop to the shops on those hot sunny days (when we have them) to treat everyone to an ice lolly. It's amazing how these things can lift a mood and morale. What are you doing today to boost wellbeing in your workplace? #wellnessintheworkplace #wellnesswednesday

🌟 A SHINING MOMENT 🌟 We're absolutely buzzing on raising £5,600 along with HAGS UK and Tayplay Rope Nets for taking on the Race the Sun challenge for Action Medical Research. A big thank you to our Foundry friends, our brilliant clients and creative community for supporting and sponsoring us on the 2-mile paddle, 9-mile hike and 39-mile bike around Snowdonia (Eryri). We feel incredibly proud to achieve this as a team and enjoyed it so much some of us have already signed up for the next event! Thanks to Tom McKay, who has helped us put together this little run down of how the event unfolded and don't forget, you can still donate here: bit.ly/49f8cTY #racethesun #TeamChallenge #NeverStopPushing #Charity #Fundraising

Manchester was certainly the centre of activity this week. After meeting Jon Dutton OBE British Cycling and attending a great evening with the Outdoor Industries Association (OIA) we moved on to media city where we spent the day with James Kay and Andrew Denton and team from This is The Foundry. Challenging, exciting and fantastically energised. Thank you James and team for hosting a brilliant workshop mapping our DNA as a brand and plotting a path forwards to position our brand in the future. Collaboration and partnership is the way forward. Sport England This is The Foundry Outdoor Industries Association (OIA)Plas y Brenin

We love being mentors year-on-year for the Two+Two UK event, and watching this video reminds us why we think taking part it's beneficial to all creative students: 💡 Getting out of your comfort zone and experiencing how you can really shine 💡 Great experience on quality briefs 💡 Opportunities to talk to employers 💡 Working in a team environment 💡 A real confidence boost Thank you Julie Ollerton for asking us to take part each year. We're looking forward to hopefully being part of the next event.

Funny little story for a wet and windy Wednesday (see what I did then). My eldest grandson (9yo) came running in to see me the other day shouting "Grandma, you're on YouTube!" He's a bit obessesed with YouTube Shorts, mainly football ones or watching other people playing Minecraft(?). Anyway I have now shot up in his estimation - points gained for being on YouTube at all and 'having shorts and everything', points lost for not having many subscribers and for not making any money doing them!! You too can check out our YouTube channel via https://lnkd.in/ec-v9_Xz, if you watch to the end of this video about this years Two+Two, you'll understand why he spent the rest of the day running around shouting "You are the future!" https://lnkd.in/e3vBNqf6

👏👏👏 We did it! At the end of April four members from Team Foundry took part in the Race the Sun event in aid of Action Medical Research. Ian McKay, Mark Bottomley, Kev L and Foundry friend Mike finished the epic day in 7 hours 48 minutes, involving a 2-mile paddle, 9-mile hike up Yr Wyddfa and a 39-mile bike ride in a triathlon style race. A great achievement and experience for the team raising money for an incredible cause. They've even already signed up for the next one! ✍️ Ian has written a blog post all about how they got on which you can read here: https://bit.ly/3KvFt36 but we've also created a video, so grab a brew and watch how they all got on. 💰 There’s also still time to donate and is very much appreciated: bit.ly/49f8cTY https://lnkd.in/euiACUAU

FOUNDRY WEEKLY(ISH) UPDATE 3.0 | It's all go go go on new client projects, but we've also been keeping ourselves busy in the background on various other things... 🌿 Elaine Lowe went to her first brash bundling event put on by Wyre River Trust. She was tasked with chopping birch trees, gathering the brash into bundles and carefully tying them securely to avoid any getting swept away to be used as part as the dam management. 🌟 A catch-up call with a potential new client has resulted in us setting up a workshop with them to brainstorm some future plans. 🧘♀️ Kate Booth and Alesia Harrison attended another MediaCityUK wellness class, this time enjoying pilates during Mental Health Awareness Week. 📣 We’ve been busy in the background working on some in-house updates to our website and positioning. More on this soon.
