🎂 Happy Birthday to Moo! This week we celebrated 25 years of farming with our brilliant Waitrose Dairy Farmers led by our new Chairman David Homer, a farmer from Wiltshire and founding member of the group 🎊 We first established the retailer, farmer, processor group to help keep dairy farmers in business by offering stability of a fair price which included a premium for delivering Waitrose high welfare standards, described as 'life changing for British farmers'. From then on, our farmers have helped us achieve the best fresh milk on the market that is entirely free range and only from British farmers. We've led the way on a fair, transparent and more sustainable milk supply chain since 1999 and will continue to strive on innovation, and commitment to providing Waitrose customers with the best milk for the next 25 years and more 🐄 We're incredibly proud of the relationship we have with our farmers and look forward to continuing to see it flourish over the next generations. #DrivenByPurpose

An exciting double-win at The Grocer Gold 2024 Awards! 🏆 ⭐ We're thrilled to have accepted the Grocer 33 Award for Service for the 4th year in a row, after picking up more Grocer 33 Store of the Week awards than any other competitors in the last year. ⭐ And a huge congratulations to Barry Griffith, winning Store Manager of the Year for his incredible work at Waitrose Lichfield. Judges praised Barry’s “genuinely outstanding” achievements during a challenging year and noted that “as well as the positive, fun outlook, he’s got the numbers underneath to back it up”. Meet Chris, Team Manager at Waitrose Newport and part-time Radio Host! 🎤 Chris regularly hosts the Monday night shows on Ngage radio 📡 "I've been broadcasting for over 10-years. I started an online radio station when I was in secondary school so all of my friends could tune in and listen! During Covid lockdowns, I started to bring live radio shows to TikTok. It was incredibly popular and I gained 48,000 followers in just under 3-months! From there, I have made friends with the likes of Gregg James from BBC Radio 1 and Mistajam from Global's, Capital Dance. Last year I joined Ngage radio which is one of the UK's leading online radio stations. It's always been my hobby and passion and I always look forward to taking to the mic." Chris even completed an epic 55-hour live radio broadcast to raise money for mental health charity, Mind, on the 31st of May which he raised over £2,000 for! 👏 We've always believed in a healthy work/life balance. The hard work of our Partners at Waitrose Saltash secured last week’s The Grocer 33 store of the week! 👏 The mystery shopper was particularly impressed by the displays which gave the store a bright, “summery feel”. 😎 Branch Manager Ryan noted the popularity among customers of local products, including Langage clotted cream and local beers and ales. Impressively, this is the third time the store has won this award. When asked about the secret to success, Ryan said: “We’re giving people lots of reasons to want to come and shop with us again, and we’re attracting new customers.
