We URGENTLY need an AI Employment Bill to keep pace with rapid change and to protect workers. We’re losing the race against time. We’ve today published a ready-to-go legal blueprint for regulating AI in the workplace, that includes a legal duty to: ✔ Consult trade unions on the use of high risk and intrusive AI in the workplace ✔ Transparency when employers use AI ✔ Give job seekers and workers a human review of decisions made by AI so they can challenge unfair and discriminatory decisions ✔ Prohibit emotion recognition tech Our polling shows: 🗳 69% think employers should consult staff before implementing AI 🗳 71% of workers oppose AI making management decisions 🗳 77% oppose AI making hiring decisions 🗳 86% oppose AI making firing decisions The UK is losing the race against time to regulate AI in the workplace and becoming an international outlier on AI regulation. We urgently need protect workers from exploitation and discrimination. This should be an urgent national priority.

The UK has experienced the third-largest decline in household spending among OECD countries since the onset of the pandemic. Households are spending £20BILLION less than before Covid. If UK spending had kept pace with the OECD average, the economy would be at least £84BILLION larger annually. The government has FAILED to stimulate post pandemic growth - as well as inflicting 14 years of economic STAGNATION. We are the only G7 country in recession. Time for an economic reset.

Today, women finally stop working for free. The gender pay gap of 14.3% means women work the first two months of the year unpaid. At this rate it’ll take 20 years to close the gap. Labour’s New Deal for Working People would be a huge boost for working women by: ✅ Introducing fair pay agreements in social care ✅ Banning zero-hours contracts ✅ Giving all workers a day one right to flexible work It’s clear just publishing gender pay gaps isn’t working. We need action.
