"My mentor helped me celebrate my personal strengths and healed the way I view myself" At the end of their mentoring journey, we ask girls to write a message to future mentees, sharing what they got from the experience and sharing encouraging advice for girls about to start theirs. It's lovely to read what the girls write; their messages are always insightful, motivational and kind, and they really show the programme's impact. It's all good advice for future mentors too - mentoring is all about growing, being open, inquisitive, interested and having fun! Empowering and inspiring girls aged 14-19 by connecting them to a mentor and network of role models who are women.
About us
The Girls’ Network aims to inspire and empower girls aged 14-19 from the least advantaged communities by connecting them to a mentor and a network of positive role models who are women. MENTORS Mentoring is an amazing way to share your experience and skills with a girl that might not benefit from this support otherwise. It is also a great way to show a teenage girl that you believe in her and she is worth investing time in. This is a powerful combination, and one that we have seen transform the lives of girls and young women again and again. We are looking for women who have had experience of the workplace, who have time and willingness to support a girl from one of the least-advantaged communities across the country, and who want to support a girl to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities. We ask our mentors for a commitment of at least one hour a month, over the course of the year. Visit our website to apply. SCHOOLS Do you work with 14-19 year old girls? Are some of the girls that you work with eligible for pupil premium? Could they benefit from a dedicated mentor? If so, then we could help! We will match your students with an inspiring professional, who will support them over the course of an academic year. Alongside this mentoring, we also provide access to high quality workshops, exclusive networking opportunities and work experience that girls may never have had access to otherwise. CORPORATES We partner with corporates in a number of ways, from training your female staff to mentor and matching them with a teenager in London, to one-off workshops giving you a chance to share insight into your company with young talent from harder to reach communities.

We're having a great time in Manchester for our bi-annual in-person team meetings this week. As a remote team it's rare that we get everyone together in the same place, so we really value this opportunity. Big thanks to the team at Bruntwood SciTech for providing us with such a fantastic space to work. Day one involved reflecting on our strategy, planning for the year ahead, honest conversations, problem solving, and team building. Today will see us dig into how we make our organisation even more girl-centred and we're hoping to finish off by learning a dance routine, thanks to our talented Network Manager come choreographer Faye! We all feel very lucky to be part of this brilliant and passionate team and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who makes up our wider network too - thanks for being part of our mission to help more girls reach for their #UnlimitedFutures #InspiringWomen #MentoringMatters #Women #SupportingWomen #StaffMeeting #Teamwork #RemoteTeam #TeamBuilding

Very proud of our fabulous Fundraising Manager Rebecca Searl-Stevens who was crowned a ‘Rising Star’ by the Chartered Institute of Fundraising at their celebration event earlier this week! Rebecca helps us access much-needed funding in an increasingly competitive climate. As a former Network Manager her insight into girls' needs as well as her excellent storytelling skills, helps demonstrate to potential donors the incredible impact that their support can make. We are very lucky to have her on the team! 💚
Absolutely thrilled to have spoken at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising Convention yesterday! 🎤✨ It was an honour to talk about becoming a data-driven fundraiser and share my experience completing a Corndel apprenticeship as part of the 'Rising Stars' session. A huge well done to all the other incredible fundraisers who delivered such inspiring and insightful presentations. ⭐The #GatsbyBenchmarks are a framework for school leaders, headteachers, and careers advisors to assess the development of their pupils in #employabilityskills. ✅Our programme meets at least four of these benchmarks and helps girls to think proactively about their future careers. Through our 121 and group mentoring and workshop programmes, girls get to engage with women from a wide range of careers and industries. Our mentors work with them to develop skills, build a more positive vision of the future and gain valuable insight into the world of work. 🚀On completion of our programmes girls can access our Ambassador Community, giving them careers advice, development opportunities and access to our network for as long as they need. 💬If you want to talk to us about how we can support girls in your school or college to unlock their true potential, we would love to talk to you. Lovely words by our Network Manager Iman Najeeb about her end-of-year session at Haggerston School - thanks to all involved in helping this programme go so well. 💚
I feel like the luckiest girl doing the best job in the world! Nothing comes close to the joy I feel when the girls are as happy and appreciative of the programme as this lovely cohort at Haggerston School was! 💖 The cohort at Haggerston School has done so well on the Autumn 23 Mentoring Programme with the help of our brilliant Teacher Liasion; Teri Willing, and most importantly the AMAZING mentors that have been the most valuable professional friends any young girl could ask for. Closing the programme today and hearing the girls talk about their mentors has warmed my heart so much - thank you to some of the lovely mentors on the cohort Flo Parker Lucy Pearson Zerena Sobhee Alice Wheeler - Assoc. CIPD Emine Tarim Hazel Marie Francis Isabelle Parkin Michelle Langley Vanja Cakol who have truly shown me what the power of mentoring is. Your impact is immeasurable! ♥️ Each of these women have left such an impact on their mentees, as here are some of the things they’ve said about them: “I am grateful for everything that you’ve done for me.” “Thank you for being my mentor and inspiring me.” “I am so grateful I was matched up with you because you have taught me so many skills and you have taught me to be confident in myself and my future. You’ve also taught me that im capable of many things. I am so thankful that we have developed such a friendly relationship and how we’ve connected.” “You’ve always been supportive of ideas I’ve put forward and always helped me gain more confidence and put forward my good qualities.” It’s been the best experience working with these wonderful mentees and mentors and I can’t wait to do it all over again in a couple months for Autumn 24!
