A piper's lament. Temple Bar. Tuesday July 30th. 1.00pm-1.45pm Come and listen to Piper Cliff Hall as he plays a lament to Francis Towneley, the supporter of Bonnie Prince Charlie who was hung, drawn, and quartered on July 30th 1746 and his head subsequently spiked on Temple Bar, along with George Fletcher, a fellow member of the Manchester Regiment which took part in the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745. Paris and the Olympics. Temple Bar. Monday July 22nd 6.30pm. Gustafson Porter Bowman have delivered a major landscaping scheme for the Olympics which centres on the Eiffel Tower and connects the Place du Trocadero to the Ecole Militaire. Mary Bowman will talk about combining the classical and picturesque on a site that prioritises the human scale with intimate garden spaces and a mix of ornamental and native planting, revealing new perspectives of the Eiffel Tower.
