Our liferaft played a vital role in ensuring the safe rescue of two fishermen in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc, located in northwest France. The crew of the 12-meter trawler, the Ocethan, swiftly sent an alert message as the vessel began taking on water. Fortunately, the two men abandoned the vessel and sought refuge in one of our liferafts. The Regional Operational Centre for Surveillance and Rescue quickly launched and coordinated rescue operations, transporting the two fishermen to safety. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed to the successful execution of this operation. This story exhibits the importance of our Survival Technology solutions operating in action and reminds us of the value of our purpose – We Exist to Protect Lives. Protecting tanker safety: The importance of high-quality safety inspections. Today saw the start of the 168th ITOSF (Informal Tanker Operators’ Safety Forum) held in Athens, Greece, and our very own Jan-Oskar Lid, Technical Sales Manager, was there to speak on the topics raised in our latest white paper, Why are the fires not going out? Unveiling the true cost of inadequate fire safety inspections. The ITOSF is an informal gathering of representatives from over 70 leading tanker management companies who meet every four months to discuss safety issues and share information on best practice for the benefit of their community. In his presentation, Jan-Oskar shared some eye-opening case studies, to demonstrate how poor-quality inspections and inexpert maintenance impact crew and vessel safety, especially in the event of a fire. 🐝 🏨 Bee Our Guest, Bee Our Guest, put these Insect Hotels to the test! 🐝🏨 Our colleagues at Maritime Protection AS, our Inert Gas Specialists, recently received a gift housing a vital purpose. These Insect Hotels are crucial habitats for bees, butterflies, and many other insects. Playing a vital role in our ecosystem, insects will contribute to the pollination of plants essential for our food production. These hotels provide a safe place for them to live, helping to maintain and strengthen a balanced ecosystem. Via Partner AS in Kristiansand, a company providing employment opportunities for those in need, supplied the hotels. The Insect Hotels not only symbolise our commitment to help support the environment but also encourage and foster local enterprises and community well-being.
