Shaping a sustainable environment, now!
About us
We are at the dawn of the resource revolution. Faced with global population growth, increasing urbanisation and climate change, it is essential to radically change how our resources are managed and used. SUEZ uses innovation and collaboration to implement smart and sustainable resource management solutions: optimising how water is used thanks to information technologies, creating alternative water resources, recycling and recovering energy from waste. The Group supplies drinking water to 92 million people, provides wastewater treatment services for 65 million people, collects waste from almost 50 million people, recovers 14 million tonnes of waste per year and generates 5,138 GWh of local and renewable energy.

We are sponsoring the Dive Project in Cornwall, which aims to support children with their resilience and mental health, whilst also educating them about the environment and marine conservation 🌊 By working with the not-for-profit Community Interest Company, we can provide environmental education for the young people through our visitor centres, which are run on the behalf of Cornwall Council. We are proud to be supporting this important initiative which not only promotes good mental health in children but also encourages them to become advocates for the environment. An industrial strategy with decarbonisation at its heart is vital for the UK Government's growth mission. In a new briefing, the Aldersgate Group outlines key policy priorities to deliver this effectively. “SUEZ welcome this timely briefing from the Aldersgate Group, a clear industrial policy should help facilitate the delivery of net zero targets, enable significant investment in low carbon technologies and prompt new research and development. We believe that decarbonisation must not only be at the heart of a new and improved industrial strategy, but it must also underpin the development of a new economy, one that is circular and delivers resource efficient, low carbon systems and infrastructure." John Scanlon, CEO at SUEZ UK. Read the briefing here: https://bit.ly/3LKc5qr #Netzero #Decarbonisation
📰 New briefing - Placing decarbonisation at the heart of Industrial Strategy - https://bit.ly/3LKc5qr 📰 Marking the first in a series of associated publications, a successful industrial strategy for the UK must deliver growth and decarbonisation in parallel, while seizing opportunities for clean energy supply chains and incentivising sustainable growth in high-potential sectors. SUEZ UK reposted this
We are pleased to announce the extension of our contracts with SUEZ to manage Greater Manchester’s waste and recycling. The extension gives both organisations the confidence to build on our innovative and forward-thinking contracts. Our partnership with SUEZ UK means we are continuing to ensure that social value is at the heart of our work so that together we can achieve a greener, more prosperous city region for all. Caroline Simpson, Group Chief Executive to GMCA, GMFRS and TFGM said: “It is good news for Greater Manchester residents that we have extended these waste management contracts. Under our unique devolution deal, we are making sure that these contracts push the boundaries on delivery of social value for the city region through public sector procurement, developing a model that is seen as best practice nationally." Great to be supporting Exeter Chiefs Community Team with HITZ - Premiership Rugby's employability and education programme. The programme is designed to support young people to build employability skills and find a career path that's suitable for them. As part of the initiative, we welcomed students to our site in Exeter, where they had the chance to explore the breadth of career opportunities in the waste and resources sector. #GreenSkills #GreenCareers #SocialValue
Working with local businesses who just as passionate about educating our students as we are, are a joy! 😁 We are truly thankful that Suez invited our students to visit their site at Greendale Business Park, Exeter and immerse themselves in the vision that Suez has exploring careers including marketing, collections, machinery operatives, administration, recycling and reuse. This is not only possible but the future ⏩ . The Suez mission, is to live in a society 👨👩👦👦 👨👩👧👧 👨👩👦👦 where there is no more waste and the goal is to create a circular economy in which nearly all waste are given a second life and are reused, recycled or recovered for their energy content. 🌍 We hope to build a strong partnership whereby our students can be more engaged with the processes and educated 💻 via work experience in this inspiring environment. Huge thanks to the Suez team who have already given so much to our Chiefs family and continue to give to our Hitz cohorts, we are hopeful we may even have Suez apprentices amongst them soon! 🚛 SUEZ UK CVC Wooden Spoon Devon
