The recently released Ofwat 2024 Price Review included targets for reducing water use. At Smarti Environmental, we're pleased to see the ecological targets defined in the Ofwat 2024 Price Review, particularly those that focus on water-saving measures. We all know that forward-thinking strategies will play a crucial role in preserving our water resources and protecting our environment for future generations and as the report states, the sector must deliver ‘substantial change’. It’s also encouraging to see further investment in the Innovation Fund, which is ‘designed to grow the sector’s capacity to innovate: encouraging bold, pioneering projects, and new ways of working that go beyond ‘business as usual’ practices’, with that fund doubling in size to £400 million.
