🗒 NEW SURVEY: Revenue metrics for usage-based companies 📈 With more companies adding usage-based elements to their pricing, we have seen a lively debate emerge within operator communities around revenue predictability and adapting traditional metrics, such as MRR to variable pricing. This motivated us to bring some data to the table by surveying the community on the topic: What does “recurring” mean for your business? How do you forecast future usage? How do you reflect uncertainty in your reporting? Finance leaders in companies with usage based pricing, we’d love to hear your take in this 2 minute, 5 question survey. We'll then share back aggregated results with everyone who participates. As an additional incentive, we will give a $50 amazon gift card to one lucky participant in the survey! 2 minute survey link in the comments 👇

Another memorable evening at the Sequence <> Pivot Summer Session. In collaboration with Pivot (Victor Cuxart, Hamza El Mansouri), we had the pleasure of hosting a group of Finance/Ops leaders from many of the most notable B2B scaleups in the UK/EU. These events provide a much-requested format for Commercial leaders to come together and discuss the growing pains and joys of building finance and revenue processes at scale. Everything from hiring approaches, vendor selection and optimal pricing strategies were on the agenda, with plenty of insightful takeaways and hot takes that will spark interesting follow-up discussions for our next event! A big thanks again to all of our attendees: Jimmy V., Sean Young, Kate Hillier Isaac, Joshua Brook, Nadia Mohammad, FCCA and Darren Bosman MCIPS. Now on to planning the next one!

New Blog Post: Predicting Revenue in Usage-based Pricing We’ve just released our latest blog post which summarises our takeaways from a recent Andreessen Horowitz podcast, where Mark Regan (RevOps Partner @a16z), Travis Ferber (VP of Strategy and Operations at Fivetran) and Dan Burrill (Head of Sales at Alchemy) discuss how to predict and manage revenue in the emerging usage-based pricing world. The ubiquity of value-based pricing requires modern strategies and tooling for Sales, CS and Finance teams to manage the revenue lifecycle for the customers who require monthly monitoring and engagement vs the conventional ‘annual check up’ that became the norm in the era of standard bookings/annual licence fees.
