🌟 Happy World Youth Skills Day! 🌍✨ Today, we celebrate the power of young minds and their incredible potential to shape our future. Investing in youth skills means investing in a brighter, more innovative tomorrow. Let's support and uplift the dreams of young people everywhere. Here at Savers, we focus on creating a working environment where every youth can thrive and succeed. 💪🌱 We wanted to share some stories from our younger generation to celebrate, so meet Joshua and his story: “When I first started my Apprenticeship, I was very nervous as it was a new environment and I had no prior knowledge of what to do or what to expect. During my first few months, I wasn’t very talkative to my co-workers, and I never asked many questions as I kept to myself. When I reached the mid-point of my apprenticeship, my confidence had improved. I was talking to my colleagues and was coming out of my shell more than before, I had improved my knowledge and speed and got much better when it came to putting out the stock or facing up the shelves in store – the floor plans I created helped in this regard to know where everything is, and where stock should go. As I was approaching the end of my apprenticeship, my skills had all improved, helped by all the notes I had written and the steps I had taken to get better at my job. I was far more approachable with the customers and more friendly and talkative with my colleagues and my friends – and my confidence overall improved massively. I would definitely recommend doing an apprenticeship as it helps you to really learn about and understand the profession that you want to work in.” #WorldYouthSkillsDay #YouthEmpowerment #FutureLeaders #SkillsForLife #InspireInclusion

A year later I passed my apprenticeship with a Distinction! I received a lot of support and guidance from my Assessor Alison and I could have never achieved a Distinction without her support. I Also received a lot of support from my Manager, Kerry. She carried out all my training with me and helped me Increase my confidence. I've now completed the level 3 Team Leader apprenticeship with another Distinction and I’m embarking on a level 4 apprenticeship with Savers” #WorldYouthSkillsDay #YouthEmpowerment #FutureLeaders #SkillsForLife #InspireInclusion

This is what pride month means to me; coming from a small conservative town with no LGBTQIA+ scene, it is important to celebrate Pride Month in any way you can. I attend as many prides as I can to support them, as it is important to represent and stand out to show you people from my community there are places and groups that are there for you.
