We are delighted to have collaborated with Reconomy on their 10-point plan for the waste sector. We are confident that this report will drive significant positive impact supporting a sustainable and zero-waste future. Well done to everyone involved in this project!
🌍🚀 Reconomy Unveils 10-Point Plan to Revolutionise Waste Sector! 🚀🌍 Exciting news! Reconomy has launched a groundbreaking 10-point regulatory framework to help the new government reform the waste sector which could boost the UK economy by £82 billion and create nearly 450,000 jobs by 2035! This is hot off the back of the General Election with Steve Reed, Labour’s new DEFRA Secretary, already laying out his ambition to create a roadmap to move Britain to a zero waste economy. ♻️ Framework Goals: 1. Set national minimum sustainability standards for waste providers. 2. Develop a new national infrastructure strategy. 3. Ensure consistent and separate waste collection across the UK. 4. Increase the frequency of Local Authority recycling collections. 5. Establish baseline data for continuous waste monitoring. 6. Implement Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes. 7. Introduce eco-design standards with mandatory returnable packaging. 8. Ringfence EPR funding for investments and subsidies. 9. Digitise resource tracking in real-time. 10. Create an independent governing body to drive change. The framework would also help to reduce emissions from waste, (currently 6% of UK GHG emissions) and align efforts with national goals to keep global warming below 2°C. Guy Wakeley, Chief Executive of Reconomy, said: “We are thrilled to launch this framework to promote the circular economy and build a more sustainable future. It’s crucial for the new government to take steps to improve resource management and meet our climate objectives.” 💬 Download the report and join the conversation - we’d love to hear your thoughts! https://lnkd.in/emvqf-t5 #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #WasteManagement #NetZero #ClimateChange #EmissionsManagement #Reconomy #Sancroft Sancroft

Looking for something inspiring to watch this week? Our CEO recommends "Roots So Deep," a compelling documentary on regenerative agriculture and soil health. 👨🌾 Check it out and dive into the world of farmers and innovative solutions for a better planet! #Sustainability #Agriculture #ESG
You'll love this: something fun for the weekend! On Monday, I was privileged to have been invited by the wonderful John Elkington to attend the UK premiere of Roots So Deep (you can see the devil down there), a four-part documentary created by Peter Byck, and I am here to tell you it's a real corker. Take a look at the trailer and then visit rootssodeep.org to stream it for yourself. A film about #climate science, #soil health, #cows, adaptive multi-paddock #grazing, #regeneration - but most importantly #farmers - Roots So Deep explores changing minds and hearts in favour of this regenerative methodology as a route to carbon drawdown as well as greater security and profitability for smallholder farmers. It is a compulsively watchable, exciting and positive work, which puts the voices of the farmers themselves, and their love for the #land and #nature at its very heart. If you eat food and you like solutions, I think you'll enjoy every minute of Roots So Deep. Streaming is only $20.00 for a month of access. Many many thanks to John, to his colleagues at Volans for co-hosting alongside The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. We are popping the popcorn for a Sancroft watch party series this summer - https://lnkd.in/eeb7zi8B
