Pairing Exceptional Diverse Leaders with Progressive Companies | Inclusion Champion

Too often, Black heritage talent are not put forward for roles they are more than qualified for and are lowballed when it comes to salary. This is because we tend to repeat traditional recruitment methods that benefit some more than others. Ruebik have had the pleasure of partnering with bold organisations who are prepared to take innovative measures to accelerate progress. Our highlights include… Hosting an event for a Financial Services organisation where we courted and engaged Black heritage leaders across industry to encourage a candidate-first culture in talent attraction. Our workshop was expertly facilitated by Monique Carayol. We brought our client organisation and a cohort of leaders together to ponder the future of technology, financial services and purpose. We hope that more companies will take this bold approach when attracting diverse talent because we know it makes a difference. We proudly sponsored the Senior Black Women in HR event, one of the best networks in town! I was honoured to participate in a panel discussion, alongside Lucy Otter, BT Group, and Kofi Kyei. It was Chatham House style conversation where we shared game-changing insights and deep expertise on total rewards packages for HR and DEI Executives. With Black women being one of the most underpaid social groups (Ethnicity Pay Gap Report 2021), it was a privilege to talk to black heritage women about knowing your value and how to negotiate your benefits, something that many women too often struggle with. A huge thank you to Elsie Akinsanya, Holly Pearce, Irene Asare, and Jennifer Ashton for partnering with us ✨

According to Jobylon, 43% of Human Resources professionals are already using AI in their hiring processes. What does this mean? With the rise of AI, many tasks can be simplified, saving hiring managers their time and resources. One company that uses AI particularly well is Mastercard. At the centre of their new recruitment strategy is a modern AI-based platform, Unlocked, that examines candidates and their skills in order to have a fairer, more streamlined hiring process. Other benefits include: 👉 An automatic scheduler for interviews which resulted in an 87% productivity increase, streamlining the recruitment process. Improving the speed of workflows and acts as an advisor for intelligent decision-making. 👉 The benefits of AI on talent acquisition have been vast. Many companies are finding that AI may improve the quality of their hires by assisting hiring teams with candidate sourcing, screening and interviews. However, although AI has many benefits, there is a potential for it to represent the conscious and unconscious biases of its users, meaning that you must use it with care and caution. Stay tuned for our next post which will explore this further! #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #Recruitment #Talentattraction #Hiring #HR Mastercard Foundation Mastercard Data & Services Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth Mastercard Cyber and Intelligence Mastercard Enterprise Partnerships

AI is a machine’s ability to perform cognition that we associate with human minds, such as learning, perceiving, reasoning, problem-solving, and even exercising creativity! And around 44% of companies are interested in investing seriously in AI (IBM). Artificial Intelligence has been reshaping every sector of the economy and is opening up potential to modernise different industries. Experts predict that automation will enhance our intelligence and performance, developing the future of our workforce. Industries we are extremely familiar with, here at Ruebik, that have reaped the benefits of AI are: 👉 Healthcare - AI is changing the face of the healthcare industry and one key example of how is its ability to diagnose pathology. 👉 Automative - According to recent reports, it’s expected that about 33 million vehicles with self-driving capabilities will be on the roads by 2040. 👉 Finance - This sector is recognising the ability of AI to be accurate and efficient, leading to many finance groups implementing machine learning, algorithmic trading, adaptive intelligence, chatbots and automation in their financial processes. But what remains clear is that AI must work alongside humanity to avoid a disastrous remake of Will Smith’s iRobot... Businesses and individuals must look further into the benefits and obstacles of AI before implementing it. And this Ruebik campaign will explore how we can ensure that AI remains a force for good…so stay tuned! #AI #Futurethinking #ArtificalIntelligence #Workforce #Finance #Healthcare #Automative #Industry #Work #Bias #Recruitment #Talentattraction #HR #Sustainability

Pairing Exceptional Diverse Leaders with Progressive Companies | Inclusion Champion

I am often asked by leaders how they can show up as an ally, and what they can do to support underserved communities in a meaningful way. I can share three practical ways that can change the life of someone you know in an instant… Investment -  Supporting and investing in someone financially can mean the world of difference to communities who don’t often benefit from funding, often not knowing how to access it being a barrier. Network - Opening up your network and brokering introductions by putting in a good word costs nothing and providing access to opportunities should never be underestimated. Sponsorship – You could pay forward learning and development opportunities. Be it online, residentials or a workshop offering practical support to expand a person’s skillset and knowledge will exponentially reap positive benefits for their career. … I know this because all three happened to me. There was no other leader that I could have chosen to open our Conscious Leadership Summit last Thursday 27th June than Jason Stockwood, my most cherished ally to not just myself as an individual but my business too. I can hold my hands up and say that without Jason’s support, I would not be where I am today. This is the impact you can have on someone… be the spark! Please share in the comments below if you have been supported by an ally that changed your world.

In May, our dedicated Delivery Team at Ruebik connected with numerous senior marketing candidates. We were struck by a common theme: over 80% of 150 candidates had faced redundancy at the beginning of 2024, right before the new fiscal year. Many shared that their companies' restructuring often left marketing departments as the first to face cuts.   Job searching is no small task—it's a full-time job in itself! It's currently estimated that 4.4% of the UK population is unemployed, translating to about 1.5 million people, the highest rate since September 2021, according to BBC News.   Redundancies peak in January, February, and March as businesses review costs and prepare for the next financial year. With AI and new operational models rising, companies are making significant shifts. We also learned that some of the candidates we spoke with in February are still on the hunt for full-time positions after being laid off, highlighting the ongoing challenges in the job market.   How can companies help reduce the number of skilled professionals facing redundancy?   Reducing the number of skilled professionals facing redundancy involves a combination of proactive measures, strategic planning, and supportive practices such as reskilling and upskilling. By implementing learning practices that inspire employees to acquire the in-demand skills needed to support the business, companies can future-proof their needs and maintain job security for their current employees. Adopting flexible hours to support diverse employee needs and offering remote work can not only open companies up to a broader talent pool but also reduce costs in maintaining office spaces and subsidising travel expenses for both employer and employee.   If, however, the only option is redundancy, there are still ways companies can support employees who have been made redundant. Providing outplacement services and informing employees of avenues they can explore to gain a new position can be invaluable to the employee and also sustain loyalty. Offering mental health support in the face of uncertainty can be uplifting to the employee and aid in reducing the amount of redundancy-related stress. By enabling employees to navigate their change in better circumstances and with a healthier mindset, finding a new position becomes less of a daunting task.   Don't let redundancy hold you back—get in touch with us at Ruebik. Let's work together to turn this challenge into an opportunity.    "Instead of seeing redundancy as a blow to their self-worth, marketers are reclaiming their careers and finding new avenues to thrive."
