Money20/20, we might need a mic ban for Pac O'Shea next time. He went totally off script (sorry Melissa), with wild hand waving and somehow made “treasury management” and “sexy” coexist in the same sentence. 🤷♂️ Pac joined a lively panel discussion with seth m phillips, CEO of Bound, on why treasury management is so broken. 🔥 Hot take: "Banks don't talk to their customers" Thanks to Melissa D. (Notion Capital) for hosting a great panel and to everyone who attended and made it such a memorable event. PS: We're hiring! 📣

What's one thing you wish you knew before raising your Series A? Last night, Round, in partnership with Odin, hosted an intimate dinner with a Michelin Star private chef and 10 of the top Seed stage founders preparing for their Series A. The highlight of the evening was a Q&A session with serial entrepreneur and investor Alex Macdonald. Alex's advice: “The dynamic of the board seat at your Series A matters more than you might think. This board seat will significantly influence your business's trajectory more than any other seat to day. Building a strong relationship with your potential board member before raising is crucial, so invest time in getting to know them and do your research.” A big thank you to sequel for hosting us in your beautiful new offices, to our valued customer yhangry for providing us with such an exceptional chef, and to all who joined us for the memorable evening! 👇 Mary Lin I Hayyaan Ahmad I Neil Shah I Emil Fristed I Kosta Kolev I Amber Michelle H. I John Bertolaso I Jonathan Bean I Freddie Fforde I Alex Boyce I Vijay Anand PS. - if you're interested in joining the next dinner drop me a DM! 👊

We experimented with a four-day workweek and failed.. We trialed it for 2 months, hoping to increase productivity and work-life balance. Here’s a breakdown of how it went 👇 == Initial thoughts == 👍 The team loved it, and, at first, it gave the founders a dedicated time to reflect. 👎 But pretty quickly, we realised the whole team had reverted to a 5-day work week. == Here’s why it wasn’t working == ❌ Founders were working Fridays, setting a bad example. ❌ Squeezing more in less time while managing work, customers, and meetings. ❌ Startup demands, things go wrong when you least expect. == So what did we do about it? == We all agreed it wasn't working. So we let the team decide how they wanted to work. We now do a ‘hybrid’ 4.5-day workweek. Here’s how we structure it: ✅ Every Friday we have no meetings after lunch, your calendar is blocked. ✅ If you get through all your goals for the week, you can take the afternoon off. ✅ If you don't want to take the afternoon off, you can use the time to work on anything important but not urgent in your backlog. == Impact == Our team now has the freedom to choose when they finish work on Fridays, prioritizing productivity and goals instead of simply being busy 👏 We've also already seen that by giving them this flexibility they're more committed and willing to put the time in when it's most crucial. == Learnings == 📣 Lead by example - don't expect your team to adopt something you don’t adopt yourself. 🎯 Figure out what works best for you - it's not a choice between two extremes. 🤝 Involve our team more in decision making - we are now collectively more motivated to achieve our goals vs. being busy and we challenge the norm. === Our approach now resembles Google's '20% time' more than a 4-day workweek 👌 Rather than blindly following trends, I encourage other founders to evaluate what genuinely benefits their teams Has anyone else tried something similar? PS - By the way, we’re hiring! 📣
