We’re proud to have completed our Sommerville House development in Twickenham, providing further London Affordable homes for local people aged 55 and over. The scheme includes 24 modern, adaptable one-bedroom homes, designed with flexible, independent living in mind. Each home features either a private balcony or terrace, along with discreet and effective mobility features. We’ve also promoted the scheme to existing customers over 55 who might be ready to downsize, which provides the added benefit of freeing up much-needed family homes in the local community. Over the past 12 months, we’ve built 125 new affordable, accessible, and sustainable homes in the local area, contributing to our purpose of providing safe, secure homes – opening the door to life opportunities. Today marks the seventh anniversary of the Grenfell Tower Fire where 72 people lost their lives. We stand in solidarity with the Grenfell community and remember all those who lost their lives, as well as the survivors and families forever impacted. 💚 Though we've always prioritised fire safety, this tragedy made us want to do even more. We're working with customers to build a socially-responsible culture where safety underpins everything we do, and homes are safe and secure. The transformation has begun at our landmark regeneration programme Ham Close, in the London borough of Richmond. The redevelopment will replace several blocks of flats built in the 1960s with 452 affordable, high-quality, and sustainable new homes. As well as increasing the number of homes currently on Ham Close, it will also deliver new community facilities and a range of public green spaces. This comes after several years of extensive consultation with customers and the wider community, including providing opportunities to feed into the final design. Today we were joined on site by our partners at London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and Hill Group UK, as well as a Ham Close resident who has been highly involved in the programme so far. We’re looking forward to working with PlaceShapers for another year! We believe being part of a collective of other passionate place-based housing organisations enables us to have a stronger voice, and helps us to play our part in creating positive change for our sector, and most importantly our residents and communities.

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve received £2.62m worth of funding through Wave 2.2 of the government’s Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF). The SHDF supports the UK government’s plans to reach net zero by 2050, by cutting carbon emissions, combatting fuel poverty, and creating green jobs. This funding (which will be matched by us) will support a retrofit project in Barnes (South-West London), where we plan to increase the energy efficiency of 208 homes. This is part of a wider programme to improve the sustainability of our homes, bringing benefits to our customers such as warmer homes and reduced fuel costs, whilst also protecting the planet.

We're delighted to announce the unanimous planning committee approval of our Sheldon House regeneration scheme in Teddington. Comprising of 27 homes, it includes social rent, London living rent, and shared ownership properties. Thank you to Clive Chapman Architects, our residents, and Ward Councillors for their contributions. Their efforts have been instrumental in ensuring the success of this project, addressing the pressing need for local affordable housing while preserving the integrity of the local community. This project aligns with our purpose to provide safe, secure, affordable homes - opening the door to life opportunities.

It was great to bring together a group of our female colleagues last week to celebrate International Women's Day. We’re proud to have a practically zero gender pay gap (0.8% in favour of women) and strong female representation at leadership levels (80% of our Executive Group and 62% of our Leadership Team are women).   Thank you to everyone who works at RHP Group who contributes to our inclusive culture. #IWD2024

On International Women's Day, we're celebrating all the women at RHP Group who play an essential role in shaping our communities and culture. A key part of our culture is to create a gender-equal workplace, where everyone is valued and celebrated, and women are paid fairly compared to men. We’re proud that women make up 63% of our Leadership Team, and our mean gender pay gap is 0.8% in favour of women. #iwd2024 #inspireinclusion
