Thank you so much to New Look for donating funds raised by their pay day lottery to us and the Fashion & Textile Children's Trust. We can't do what we do without support like this. Good luck to all the New Look colleagues this month! #hope #health #happiness #retail #retailtrust #retailers #wellbeing #newlook #ThatNewLookFeeling
Another amazing benefit we offer our New Lookers, is the chance to opt in to our monthly Payday Lottery, and be in with the chance to win up to £1000! With the support our provider Sterling Lotteries, recently we’ve been able to increase the number of monthly prizes we offer and review our charity donations. We’re excited to share that from this month, monies raised via the Payday Lottery will be equally donated to the Retail Trust and the Fashion & Textile Children's Trust, two great charities that we partner with to support the wellbeing of our colleagues and their families. Not only does the Payday Lottery offer our colleagues the chance of winning a prize each month, but also allows them to support our amazing charity partners. Thank you to Retail Trust and Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust for our ongoing partnership and good luck to all our colleagues opted in to this exciting benefit! You’ve got to be in it to win it! #ThatNewLookFeeling

Sometimes it’s the small things that can have a big impact. A quick scroll through social shows us that the mental health taboo is slowly being broken with celebrities, influencers and regular people, just like us, becoming more open to talking about the importance of mental health awareness. Which is amazing – and we’re certainly talking a good talk on prioritising self-care, but how much translates into actual ‘doing’? It can maybe feel like wellbeing is all about grand life gestures, like week-long yoga retreats, meditating for hours or buying a bunch of supplements, crystals and candles, but sometimes we really don’t need to make major life overhauls or spend a fortune to make a difference. Little tweaks here and there, can often have as big an impact. Try putting these small but significant ways to look after your wellbeing into practice: https://lnkd.in/gXjUEqAq #hope #health #happiness #wellbeing #retail #retailtrust #retailers #selfcare #retailindustry #summer

Making a difference with the Retail Trust 🧡 Last week, 11 N Brown colleagues visited Moores House – the Retail Trust’s residential home in Salford – for their make a difference day. The team got involved with jet washing the patio, sprucing up the garden and tidying up the tv room- all whilst dodging the rain! They also enjoyed a cuppa and a quiz with the residents in the afternoon. The team had a fantastic day, and we love seeing what our colleagues get up to on their volunteering days! #ProudToBeNBrown

Last week, a brilliant team from N Brown Group visited our estate in Salford to lend their hands. The team got involved with jet washing the patio, sprucing up the garden and tidying up the tv room, all whilst dodging the rain! They also enjoyed a cuppa and a quiz with the residents in the afternoon! We can't thank the team enough for their hard work and enthusiasm. The residents loved having you with them for the day. Thank you. #hope #health #happiness #retail #retailtrust #volunteering #retailindustry #wellbeing

What a brilliant event organised by schuh yesterday. The theme for the day was to connect with our own wellbeing through 'breathe, move and connect'. It was a great opportunity to speak to over 300 store managers from the across the UK about the services partnered with Retail Trust; and we launched the Better You wellbeing survey to enable colleagues to assess their own wellbeing and get a personalised action plan. Thanks and a shout to my contacts Amy, Gayle, Jennifer, Steph and Rob for involving us as a part of the day. P.S. channeled my inner Steve Jobs for the crowd!

As the King's Speech laid out a tougher stance on retail crime, here's Chris Brook-Carter's thoughts in Professional Security Magazine: “Almost half of retail workers have told the Retail Trust they now feel unsafe at work, with 90 per cent experiencing physical or verbal abuse and more than one in three shouted at, spat on, threatened or hit every week. We simply can’t allow this level of lawlessness in the country’s shops and streets to continue. There needs to be stronger warnings that this behaviour is completely unacceptable and real shifts in how incidents are handled and so, if the legislation is to prove truly effective, the police will also have to be properly resourced so they can take the appropriate action in arresting and prosecuting offenders."
