About us
Resonance is a social impact property fund manager. We create and manage social impact investment funds that deliver financial and targeted social impact. We believe that change is possible and that one day, aligning profits with social impact will be the norm. We provide life changing housing solutions for people facing crisis. Through our Property Funds we work with housing partners to provide safe affordable homes with wrap around support. A key focus of our work is the Homelessness Property Funds we have developed, such as the Women in Safe Homes fund. This fund, believed to be the world’s first gender-lens property fund, has been created as a solution to the lack of affordable, safe and secure homes for women who are experiencing homelessness, have been involved with the criminal justice system, are survivors of domestic abuse or have other complex needs. Since our first property fund launched in 2013, we have helped to provide homes for over 3,500 individuals and families in 1,129 properties. Established in 2002, we currently have £350m of funds under management and now manage 11 impact investment funds. These include: Property Funds – scaling social enterprise through access to residential property, on the right terms and at scale, with a current focus on groups across three main themes: Learning Disabilities, Vulnerable Women and Homelessness. Impact Labs – we develop, innovate and provide other forms of tailored investment and funding to social enterprises. We help shape the products and services of tomorrow that help social enterprises grow their impact, through funding and specialist advice. The enterprises are then better positioned to provide the support needed to their communities and individuals, in order for them to rebuild and move-on with their lives. In addition to our investment funds, we have an advisory service that works with social enterprises, helping them to grow their impact and raise capital. #BCorp #SocImp #ImpInv

We’re delighted to have published our latest combined South West and West Midlands Social Investment Tax Relief (SITR) Social Impact Report for 2022/23. This report highlights the outcomes achieved by the social enterprises invested in by the two funds. With 47% of investees operating directly within geographic areas experiencing some of the highest levels of income deprivation, the support, opportunities and services they provide their local communities with, are contributing towards pathways out of poverty. During 2022/23, positive outcomes achieved by investees for the people they support included improved health and wellbeing, access to employment and learning opportunities, raising aspirations, developing skills and strengthening support networks. In doing so, people experiencing some of the highest levels of poverty were provided with improved chances to move out of poverty and into more healthy, settled and stable lives. Today is World Youth Skills Day – a day designated by the United Nations to highlight the importance of providing young people with skills for decent employment. #WorldYouthSkillsDay aims to recognise the potential of young people as catalysts for positive change. In celebration, we wanted to showcase the fantastic work of one of our West Midlands SITR Fund investees, The Skill Mill. The Skill Mill works with young ex-offenders to increase their employability through a range of supported training and employment opportunities, primarily through their environmental projects including flood management and construction. As well as a recognised qualification, the young people at The Skill Mill also gain the skills and self-confidence to reconnect with their community and improve their emotional and physical wellbeing.
