Great recognition of Photorama Project’s leading role at the cutting edge of innovation, pioneering new technologies and paving the way for the recycling of millions of tonnes of old photovoltaic (PV) waste.   Recycling around 1,200 tonnes of PV panels could potentially save over 3,800 tonnes of CO2 equivalent, according to preliminary assessments. This reduction is comparable to the emissions from nearly a thousand cars driven for a year. With millions of tonnes of PV waste anticipated, this solution could have a substantial positive impact. Last week we announced that after market close on 21st June 2024 we will be joining the FTSE 250. The FTSE 250 Index, which comprises the 101st to the 350th largest companies listed on the London Stock Exchange, serves as a benchmark for the performance of mid-cap companies in the UK. Easily and accurately report with our new CO2 and recycling reporting tool for the Netherlands. ♻️ To comply with the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), companies in the Netherlands must report not only their own CO2 emissions but also the emissions in their value chain. To ensure that our customers in the Netherlands can always access their CO2 emissions and recycling rates, these will be available in the existing customer portal environment MyRenewi from the end of this year. 🌍 TNO calculated the actual CO2 emissions per waste stream and recycling rate specifically for Renewi's processes. Dr. Esther van den Beuken, Market Manager Circularity at TNO: said "Insight into the actual CO2 emissions and recycling rate across the entire value chain is important information for companies and a motivation for society to better separate, sort, and recycle waste." Sander Leenders, Commercial Director Netherlands at Renewi: "Complying with CSR Directive requires a significant effort for most companies. Renewi will provide its customers with a unique service to support them even better in achieving their sustainability goals." The figures are not only important for CSRD reporting but also for companies with sustainability ambitions. These figures, combined with carbon avoidance,  immediately show the environmental impact of delivering separated waste compared to residual waste.
