In 2024 many employers will look at your LinkedIn before they look at a covering letter or CV - this means it is crucial to make sure your LinkedIn profile is up-to-date and up-to-scratch Many of the tricks that apply to CV writing also apply to your LinkedIn Profile like: - Using action words - Highlighting achievements - Using keywords that are relevant to your field. How much should you customise your CV? There’s always a bit of a balancing act when it comes to tailoring your CV for every role you apply for. Part of the process does involve quantity as well as quality – after all you miss every shot you don’t take! So it really is a case of prioritising the changes you make between each application. It's a good idea to have a bank of achievements to choose from for each type of job you’re applying for so you can swap in and out achievements based upon their relevance and keywords. The most important things to ask yourself are: “Is this relevant?” “Does my CV have enough relevant keywords?” “Is it concise?” Doing these things will allow you to make the fastest changes to your CV. The same thing applies to your cover letter – but also be sure to check every reference to the job and company you’re applying for is correct. You would not believe the number of times candidates accidentally leave the wrong company name in! #JobSearch #CareerTips #ProfessionalGrowth #OnlinePresence #Recruitment

Are you changing jobs? Is your final day coming up? Don’t forget to do these important things before you go! - Get a hold of any of the files that you need for your portfolio! (but only what you’re *allowed* to take – don’t go breaking any NDAs or confidentiality agreements!!) - Make sure you’ve got copies of all your payslips; you don’t want to find you need them later! - Ask colleagues if you can use them as a reference in the future! (and ask more than one, because you never know if someone might leave or no longer be contactable) - Be polite! It’s always unwise to burn bridges so be nice and say kind things to your colleagues. #PurpleCV #PurpleResume #CareerDevelopment #PersonalDevelopment #Interviews #InterviewAdvice
