Meet UHI Business Competition Winner: @Lily Charmichael 👩🔧 Lily, an Engineering Systems student, won £1,000 for her innovative idea: workwear designed specifically for women in labor-intensive jobs. Her solution addresses the discomfort and inefficiency caused by ill-fitting, men-sized clothing. The competition, open to all 16+ in the Highlands and Islands, has fostered entrepreneurship since 2006. Iain King, UHI's Construction and Engineering Curriculum Leader, emphasised the importance of encouraging innovative engineers for community growth. "It is well known that engineering is essential to any thriving community; engineering without innovation returns no change. Innovative engineering drives change, thereby building opportunity and enhancing life."
