We're excited to share Our #PunchPromise2024, showcasing how far we have come to protect our Pubs, Planet and People.   What is Our Punch Promise? It's more than solely our inaugural #ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) report; it's a vital component of our commitment to #DoingWellByDoingGood. And it's bigger than we are.   Our strategy contributes to the world's global action plan - the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. This year, we have gone big.   What's new? Our bold #PushthePineapple movement, driven by grassroots volunteers passionate about supporting our People, has taken their incredible work to our pubs. They're driving change for the greater good in alignment with our five-star strategy.   We're also making incredible steps for the environment throughout the UK. Highlights include creating pub garden pollination zones to protect our bees in partnership with the Eden Project. We're also working with Publicans to implement better recycling practices. We are installing smart meters, cellar, and fridge managers to further our journey to Net Zero.   How are our pubs involved? Our inspirational collective of Publican and Management Partner ambassadors called #PubHeroes are helping us. Their incredible ideas shared at the Birmingham event and, most recently, Brighton are great examples of us working together to make a sustainable difference.   Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our progress and actions this year. Last night saw the return of Punch Pubs vs Molson Coors Beverage Company in a football friendly at the home of England’s national football teams, St. George’s Park! ⚽🦁 And what a night it was... Molson Coors Beverage Company raced into an early 3-goal lead before Punch pulled a goal back which set up a nail-biting final 30 minutes, but Coors managed to hold on before scoring a 4th in the final seconds! Although there was some friendly rivalry, both teams came together for an inspirational cause and raised a generous £275 for Only A Pavement Away, an incredible charity that helps people facing homelessness and veterans find employment in the hospitality industry. It’s nights like last night that remind us of the power of unity and collaboration, two hospitality giants joining forces and demonstrating true sportsmanship – none of which would be possible without event organisers, Jake Green and Ashley Robinson 👏 A huge thanks to all participators and supporters! We want to give our inspirational Publicans and MP volunteers committed to helping our Pubs, People and Planet a massive shout-out for joining us in Brighton at our second Pub Heroes event.   The day was an excellent opportunity to explore our collective thoughts and ideas on our commitment to doing well, by doing good together. MPs and Publicans shared that they have a "duty of care outside of drink" and that when they hear a customer say, "I came in here miserable and left smiling", they feel their job is complete. Our pub heroes are the true hearts and minds of our communities.   We shared the inspirational work of our health and wellbeing Push the Pineapple volunteers and our incredible partnerships and progress nurturing the environment.   We also showed the heroes what's been happening in the pub space, talking about our energy-saving initiatives and giving a sneak peek into what's coming around the corner.   We finished with celebratory events at Spiegeltent (thanks to Gavin George, Russell Danks and Roxy West at Laine!). They did it!🎉 🚴 230km cycled 🚴 25% hill gradients The magnificent Pedalling to Pubs 2024 team have just finished their three day cycle across the scenic hills of north Devon, what an achievement! They may be smiling now, but this challenge was by no means easy! They battled steep inclines, rocky paths and slippery fords all for two fantastic, worthy charities - Licensed Trade Charity & Only A Pavement Away 🙌🏻 To say we’re proud would be an understatement, now to enjoy a relaxing weekend and a beer I’m sure 🍻 Donations are still rolling in, so far over £80k has been raised! The Pedalling 2 Pubs team, a group of dedicated individuals, are back for the second year, this time conquering the rolling hills of North Devon 🚵♂️ 50 laudable riders across the hospitality industry will shortly embrace a 230km cycle over the next three days to help the fundraising efforts of the incredible Licensed Trade Charity & Only A Pavement Away 🚲 Their bikes are oiled up, and the saddles are ready!
