Not 1 new hotel, but 2! 🤩 This week we’ve opened our newest hotel in Paddington, London and it combines two of our hotel brands, Premier Inn and hub by Premier Inn, offering our guests 369 new bedrooms. 🏨 The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in Westminster supported us with the hiring of our new team from the local area and we are proud to welcome 80 new team members to #Whitbread. The team dedicated time to supporting the local community as part of our new hotel opening journey and our Force for Good strategy. Using ActionFunder they picked charities that were important to them: ☀️Clarion Futures Summer Activities 💙Maiden’s Lane Food Bank 🪴Seedling’s Community Garden 😁Happy Hub Summer Club Alongside this, the team spent 79 hours in Happy Hub Summer Club helping prep for their holiday activities and carried out fundraising for our charity partner Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. This dual-branded hotel is the first of its kind at Whitbread and the team has already made sure they are making their mark. Teamwork at its finest! 👏🏾 Our Repairs and Maintenance Team have raised almost £10,000 for our charity partner Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. 💜 With an incredible 50,000 steps walked by each of the team, we aren't surprised you've raised so much. A huge thank you and well done to everyone who took part 🤩
It was the sound of the underground for our R+M team on Thursday (25th July) as they valiantly trekked around the route of London's circle line in the name of raising funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. That's a route of 15+ miles, or 50k steps per person 🚶🏻♂️, taking in 36 stations including most of the main termini serving the capital. It's fair to say everyone had an enjoyable day whilst putting in the effort going on these photos. The team took time out from running our national network of Premier Inn hotels and Whitbread restaurants to fundraise towards the Gt Ormond Street Children's Cancer Centre, raising an incredible £9.5k so far. Meet Jordan, Construction Project Manager at Whitbread. 🏗️ He joined us over 10 years ago as a graduate and was keen to be a part of our expansion plans. After becoming a Hotel Manager, Jordan realised he loved the excitement of opening new hotels and joined our Estate Development Team as a Project Manager. During his time in this role, he worked alongside our site and property teams, ensuring each new hotel was opened to a Whitbread standard. Working alongside our Property Team opened his eyes to the world of construction and now, he’s a Construction Project Manager and we’re funding his master’s degree in Construction Management. 👷🏻♂️ Jordan says, “In 10 years I’ve gone from learning how to make beds, to looking after multi-million-pound hotels, and now helping build them. “You don’t always need a career to aim for when you leave uni, but you need a good pool of opportunities, and Whitbread has this."
