Open For Business

Civic and Social Organizations

A coalition of companies making and promoting the economic & business case for global #LGBT+ inclusion.

About us

Open For Business is a coalition of 36 leading multinational corporations making and promoting the economic and business case for global LGBTQ+ inclusion. We are dedicated to making the case that open, diverse societies are good for business and essential to economic growth. Started alongside the Clinton Global Initiative in 2015, Open For Business has focused on promoting the economic and business case for inclusion to global audiences of senior business leaders. We have held conversations alongside global forums, such as the World Economic Forum at Davos. We have also held roundtables in eight countries around the world with anti-LGBT policies to engage local senior business leaders on the role that business can play to advance LGBT inclusion in those countries. These regions include India, Hungary, Kenya, Hong Kong, the Caribbean, and other countries in Africa and Asia. Watch eight influential leaders from our coalition partners discuss their commitment to Open For Business and the need for collective business action to advance global LGBT inclusion: https://youtu.be/kqbNIcQyChw Interested in learning more? Four regional programmes spanning sixteen countries. Five new research publications. One new coalition member (welcome BlackRock!). These are just some of the highlights from the past year of Open For Business’ efforts to advance LGBTQ+ equality around the world using the economic case for LGBTQ+ inclusion. Today as we launch our latest Impact Report on #IDAHOBIT2024, we reflect on both the challenges and successes of the past year and continue to activate business everywhere as a driving force for LGBTQ+ equality globally: https://lnkd.in/eJ4wJJnb

Congrats to our coalition partner Deutsche Bank, for this fantastic recognition of their commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace! Their ongoing support, alongside the other brilliant global businesses we work with, allows us to continue to responding to the growing backlash against LGBTQ+ inclusion in many parts of the world.

🏅 We are excited to announce that Deutsche Bank has won gold in the Stonewall Awards in recognition of our efforts to further LGBTQ+ equality in the workplace! Stonewall is the largest LGBTQ+ rights organisation in Europe. Every year, the organisation publishes its Top 100 Employers 2024 list, the UK’s leading ranking of employers from public, private and third sectors on how inclusive their workplaces are. Based on the results of their UK Workplace Equality Index, the benchmarking tool for organisation’s achievements and progress on LGBTQ+ inclusion, we were once again ranked in the list, this year in 20th place. Creating inclusive environments makes the workplace safer and better for everyone – not just LGBTQ+ people. Together with our LGBTQ+ employee resource group, dbPride, we aim to foster a positive working environment where LGBTQ+ colleagues can develop their full potential as employees and individuals and we provide a supportive network for LGBTQ+ employees at any stage of their career. Fabrizio Campelli, Head of the Corporate Bank and Investment Bank and Co-Executive Sponsor of dbPride commented: “I am delighted to see the significant strides that Deutsche Bank continues to undertake to ensure that discrimination and prejudice have no place in our workplace. The acknowledgment that the bank has received highlights that we are continuing to move in the right direction and that inclusivity is an integral part of our culture.” “A lot of hard work happens across the bank to further inclusivity in the workplace and every piece of external recognition is a vindication of our efforts,” said Rebecca Short, Chief Operating Officer, Member of the Management Board and Co-Executive Sponsor of dbPride. “Special congratulations to Jill Leflour, who has been named in Stonewall’s Changemakers list and continues to work tirelessly to advance LGBTQ+ equality in the workplace.” Michelle Yeoman (CB & IB Operations and Controls) and Prasad Hattikudur, MBA (Regional COO Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) UKI), Co-Chairs of dbPride UKI commented: “This is an impressive achievement which is a testament to our Employee Resource Group, dbPride and their partners' unwavering commitment to equality and inclusion. The journey doesn’t end here, we must continue to show our support for our LGBTQ+ colleagues through visible representation and allyship”.

First ever Deutsche Bank Pride event in São Paulo, Brazil! 🏳️🌈 For the first time in Latin America, Deutsche Bank hosted its own Pride event for clients, employees and partners, offering a supportive network for the LGBTQIA+ community within the bank. The event was opened by Luis Flavio Muzzi Mendes, Chief Country Officer in Brazil, who provided insights into how the financial market can guarantee a support network for members of the LGBTQIA+ community at any stage of their career through inclusive practices, opportunities and policies. 🤝 We also took the opportunity discuss the launch of the Business Investors Guide to LGBTQ+ Inclusion by Open For Business, a coalition of companies that defend and promote the economic and business reasons for the global inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community. The event reinforced Deutsche Bank's support for internal cultures that provide a welcoming and safe environment, and offer opportunities for members of the LGBTQIA+ community to showcase and increasingly enhance their talents in the corporate market. #DeutscheBank #dbPride #PrideSeason #Diversity

A fantastic piece from our treasurer, Ken Janssens "It has been demonstrated time and again that diverse-led organizations are: * Thirty-nine percent more likely to outperform those lacking diversity * Twelve times more likely to engage and retain employees * Nearly eight and a half times more likely to inspire a sense of belonging * Eight and a half times more likely to satisfy and retain customers" https://lnkd.in/gZ7RWfRm
