OGCI (Oil and Gas Climate Initiative) members are reducing their own #emissions, helping other industries reduce theirs and they are investing in the energy system of the future. As we mark 10 years of collective action, swipe to see some of the highlights from our latest progress report. ⬇️ #OGCI10
We’re celebrating a decade of collective action to accelerate the energy industry’s journey to net zero. OGCI’s member companies have collectively already met their methane intensity target of 0.2%. And now we’re striving for near zero methane emissions from operations under our control by 2030, in line with the ambitions of our Aiming For Zero Methane Emissions Initiative which is supported by over 100 companies. Swipe to find out more about our collective progress. Check out our latest progress report: https://lnkd.in/eUFP5cA5

The development of CCUS hubs is gaining pace, thanks in large part to supportive policies. 🌏 Pioneering regions lead the way with pro-CCUS incentives serving as examples for others to follow. As part of its strategic plans, China provides low-cost loans for CCUS projects, while the US promotes tax incentives and various grants to reduce the cost and risk of investing in carbon management technologies. Visit our website to learn more about how we’re working with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to identify new CCUS hubs in 56 countries. #OGCI

💬 Methane emissions should be taken as seriously as oil spills, Julien Perez told Energy Connects recently. In 2022, we launched the Aiming For Zero Methane Emissions Initiative to cut the oil and gas industry’s methane footprint to near zero by 2030. Now, more than 100 companies are committed to reaching net zero through transparent reporting, advanced monitoring, and innovative approaches to methane emissions reduction. Our CO2 Storage Resource Catalogue, a collaboration with Global CCS Institute and Halliburton, evaluates the readiness of 1272 potential carbon capture and storage sites across 54 countries. Carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) will be critical to enable industries and regions to #decarbonize as the energy transition gains pace. The catalogue is an ongoing project, helping build a global overview of resources available to CCUS projects. 🔍 Watch now to explore the tool’s functionality and try it out on our website. #CarbonCapture #NetZero
