#Consumers want personalized content, but don't want their privacy compromised. #Advertisers want to deliver #personalized content, but… …treat #privacy as a checkbox activity. There's a lot of assumption that to deliver personalized and relevant content, advertisers need to track us to the nth degree so that they know every single detail about our lives. That's simply untrue - especially given the latest wave of #IDless and ID-free solutions that deliver this fine balance between personalization and privacy right out of the box - and I'm not talking about Privacy Sandbox! #Google's latest backtracking on their 4-year promise to deprecate 3rd party #cookies sounds eerily similar to when #Apple decided to ask users for their opinion. And what's happened since? Almost 75% of users have said no to tracking. While the industry has continued to cling to elements of ID-based solutions instead of moving forward, targeting precision has significantly reduced, acquisition costs have skyrocketed, signal loss continues, and… I could go on. We are in a unique position in that the industry can and should push forward with solutions that are forward-thinking, future-proof, and, most importantly, keep consumer interest at the center of everything. At the end of the day, we're all consumers and deserve better solutions than those that exist today. Anything that results in BAU is simply a massive wasted opportunity and time.
