We were delighted to meet with representatives from British Embassy The Hague and Department for Business and Trade to discuss international trade, connectivity and the value of our Amsterdam service. The route between Newcastle and Amsterdam has been a long-standing connection and with up to six daily flights with easyJet and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, the service continues to be extremely popular with the region's business and leisure passengers. The Netherlands is an important strategic market for the North East of England and we are proud Newcastle continues to be one of the best-connected UK cities to the country.

New arrival at Your Airport 🚋 ✈️ One of the new Metro trains visited Newcastle Airport today as part of the ongoing Tyne & Wear Metro testing programme. The new Metro fleet aims to be more environmentally friendly and energy efficient, helping our passengers travel to and from the Airport in a more sustainable way, aligning with our Net Zero 2035 target 🍃 With thousands of tests to complete, this is the biggest project since the Metro was first built!

🤝 Working together to keep our passengers and staff safe. Thank you to Counter Terrorism Policing North East for delivering their See, Check and Notify (SCaN) training session at our airport. The programme helps organisations maximise safety and security using their existing resources. It also empowers staff to know what suspicious activity to look for and what to do when they encounter it. We took part in the session alongside business partners and Northumbria Police.

Branching out to a greener future 💚 We were delighted to join representatives from Woolsington Parish Council to see the progress of our fantastic environmental projects in Abbotswood. The area of woodland is owned by the Airport and is used by the local community for recreational purposes. We checked up on our recent tree planting projects, reviewed the wildflowers and stopped by the bug hotel, hedgehog houses and bat sanctuaries. We also discussed some exciting projects which we will be working on together over the coming months.

Teamwork makes the dream work 💜 Last week, we were thrilled to support LV Logistics UK, Emirates SkyCargo and Sterling Pharma Solutions with the first SkyCell AG shipment to Dubai. SkyCell’s temperature-controlled hybrid containers safeguard vital medicines and ensure they are transported safely. This operation was a major milestone for us and demonstrates the exceptional pharmaceutical services we provide. Congratulations to all the teams involved.
