⏳ For too many people, their time in prison is time wasted. Around 50% of people in prisons managed by HMPPS are not in work or education, whilst for those that are, the prison work day does not reflect a typical work day in the outside world. Our campaign wants to see people in prison given a working pattern that reflects a typical day of work on the outside as much as possible. Watch our campaign film and please share it to help us raise awareness. This year, to celebrate #ArmedForcesDay on June 29th, we’re sharing the story of one of our housing tenants from Manchester – who was referred to us and has taken the opportunities he’s been given to make the most of his life after his service. Read his story at buff.ly/45HmDjj We know that life after the forces can be challenging. We understand that in some cases those challenges can lead to homelessness, substance misuse, and involvement in crime. We are proud to support people who’ve served in the armed forces. As a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, we are committed to working with ex-service personnel to put in place the right support for them.

We have joined over 200 organisations in making a commitment to end poverty in the UK with #OurEssentials. 7 million low-income families have gone without daily essentials like food, heating, and adequate clothing in the last six months. With the election just 1 week away, we ask our political leaders: where is your urgent plan to tackle hardship?
