    🌟 This week saw the 60th anniversary of the Advertising Association's Media Business Course, and our very own MD Kat Bozicevich had the honour of convening Day 1!   Alongside Adam Morton, Chief Product Officer at UM London, Kat explored the art of media planning and strategy, focusing on culture, commerce, and community. The session was dedicated to sharing insights, educating, and sparking creative inspiration among delegates.   In Kat's words, "Convening Day 1 is such a privilege, where we get to share our love of media and hopefully play a part in building a lifelong passion across the industry."   Such a great course and session!     🧠 #MentalWellnessMatters at MAD/Fest What a week at MAD//FEST! This week saw our CEO Natalie Bell joined by leaders from NABS, GroupM, and Channel 4 to tackle a brilliant conversation about mental wellness at work. The discussion revealed that over 70% of our industry feel unable to discuss mental health, signalling deep-rooted cultural barriers. The panel covered this critical topic, delving into: 🔹 Burnout & Pressure: Burnout is severely impacting middle management, leading to increased staff turnover 🔹 Proactive Support: Shifting from reactive to proactive support, implementing initiatives to offer continuous support, not just in emergencies 🔹 Inclusion: The importance of efforts to better engage all employees, recognising disparities in program adoption 🔹 Open Conversations: Fostering open discussions about mental wellness and sharing coping strategies, working to destigmatise mental health in the workplace In the words of Natalie, "We still have work to do. We need to help our teams navigate all the different sources of support available, both internally and externally."     🌟 Are we really in a golden age of advertising effectiveness? We held a debate to find out! 🎤 Last week saw an expert panel debate on a seriously hot topic - are we in a golden age for advertising effectiveness? Sparked by a quote from Mark Ritson, our panellists were tasked with posing arguments for and against the statement to a very passionate audience. An audience we asked to vote pre and post-debate, ascertaining just how convincing each side was. Hosted by our very own MD Kat Bozicevich, the panel included Clare Kendrick, Head of Effectiveness at MG OMD, Robert Beevers, Chief Analytics Officer MG OMD, Laurence Green, Director of Effectiveness, IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising) and Mark Evans, advisor, coach, trustee and NED. 🚀 From the impact of technical advances to the reality of Marketing in the minds of the C-suite, the debate was certainly energetic.     🌈 As we say goodbye to Pride 2024, we still celebrate Pride 365 🌈   Pride Month 2024 may have come to a close, but at its core, Pride and what it stands for are an intrinsic daily practice. We asked some MGers to share what Pride means to them. And what better way to commemorate Pride than by sharing their words 😊   Becoming the best possible environment for the LGBTQ+ community is a job that is never done, but here are some of the ways that we at MG OMD incorporate Pride 365:   🔄 Transitioning at Work: Our policy supports employees who are transitioning, ensuring they feel comfortable and backed every step of the way   📚 Training Programs: Regular DEIB training sessions, including focused training on LGBTQ+ issues like trans and non-binary awareness   🧠 Therapy Sessions: Free access to Self Space therapy sessions and a matching service tailored to individual needs   📊 DEI Planning Director: A dedicated role focused on enhancing our DE&I planning work   💪 LGBTQ+ Taskforce: Our taskforce continually pushes for better and more inclusive practices   Together, we continue to push forward, embrace diversity, and create a world and workplace where everyone feels safe to be their true selves.   #Pride2024 #CreatingDifferenceThatMatters
