We're on the cusp of a significant wave in energy storage deployment in India, and last week's check on our own system in Delhi reconfirmed why this is such an important market for us. 📄This recent article from pv magazine Global highlights this transformation. While we're beginning to see progress in India, it's crucial to put things in perspective. India's total energy storage capacity (219.1 MWh/111.7 MW as of March 2024) is still smaller than many individual projects in Europe. ⏳ Additionally, the current duration of storage systems in India is around two hours. To effectively harness solar energy and address the 'duck curve', much longer storage durations are needed. Last week we had a company away day 🎉 . It was a great opportunity for team building and also a chance for some time out from a very busy period, which culminated in our new system being installed with a partner in India 🔋 🔌. A lot of fun was had as we worked our way through the crystal team challenge - which included team skiing ⛷ , a dungeon dilemma ⁉ and a snake swamp 🐍 - to name a few! Thank you to the whole team for your hard work and dedication throughout this period 🙏 . 👩🔬Update from the Lab - hot inside, cold outside - no problem 👨🔬 This week we decided to test our latest thermal management system in freezing conditions ❄️ This is important, as many of the solar growth locations around the world experience high temperatures during the day and freezing conditions during the night. By vastly simplifying the thermal management system we’re able to keep our batteries safe whatever the external conditions 🏔️🌇
