    Having spoken to hundreds of recruiters, we’ve discovered two key things that really work. First, share something a little personal about yourself. Second, make sure the interviewer has a good time talking to you. Here’s how to nail it: 1. Practice your “Tell me about yourself.” The structure is simple: - Introduce your name, role, and competitive advantage - Briefly highlight a relevant example or achievement. - Transition from your most significant experience to your recent accomplishments. - Share that personal tidbit (like curating bad jokes) that makes you memorable. - Weave the details from your resume into your narrative to give your story depth. - Make your value clear and explain why you’re better than the competition. 2. Communicate as if you're speaking to your best friend in a formal setting; imagine they've forgotten everything about you. The goal is to be relatable but professional. Absorb the job description carefully; identify the key responsibilities and skills required. Transform these into a short list of bullet points—ideally, six to eight points that are repeatedly emphasised are the ones they're keen on. During the interview, aim to cover 80% of these points without making it sound scripted. Let the conversation flow naturally, and avoid using the exact wording from the job description. Remember, being able to paraphrase can show that you comprehend and can apply the concepts within your own context. When handling pushback or follow-up questions, be ready for parallel queries that are often hinted at in the job description. Have a succinct story ready for each bullet point on your list—just enough to whet their appetite, nothing too elaborate.
