I would like to thank The Printing Charity for the incredible night at the Rising star awards evening last week. This award will give me the opportunity to further develop my skills in management and leadership. One of the questions I raise for you to think about is how much talent, possibilities and opportunities are wasted by poor management and poor work culture? So many workplaces are consumed by poor management and a lack of leadership. Which damages motivation as people don’t feel in a space where they can contribute their opinions & ideas, keeping them to themselves. Leaving employees with little identity and little willingness to speak up and leaving the organisation with no innovative drive. Creating a space that breeds creativity and contribution is crucial to any form of business development and employee growth. You never know, the person you sit alongside all day, might have the answer you need or asks the question which enables you to figure it out yourself. Imagine how much progress could be made in workplaces if all the unsaid ideas, thoughts, plans, and contributions were collated. But most importantly: making your team and colleagues feel seen and feel heard.
