A sneak peek inside the Living Lab - our new UK hub office in #LondonBridge that will serve as an evolving platform for experimentation and industry collaboration. The Living Lab launch marks the culmination of a collaborative design process, where the project team of Gensler, Turner & Townsend alinea and ISG worked alongside our own specialist engineers, designers and staff to create a bespoke new home that will enable business growth and client collaboration for many years to come. The transparent, open design - where services are showcased and easily accessible - encourages visitors and guests to explore and collaborate. We also invited a number of manufacturers, including Artus, S&P UK Ventilation Systems Ltd, EcoDuct Ltd - Transformative Ductwork Technology, Fagerhult UK and Clevertronics UK, to use the space as a testbed for new products – including latest models and early prototypes. #Sustainability has been embedded in the process from the start, with the Living Lab currently targeting #BREEAM Outstanding and WELL Platinum – a commitment to staff wellbeing for the long term. We can’t wait to share more over the next few months. Until then, follow the link to read about the journey so far: https://lnkd.in/eSgXUyzH

Announcing a new long-term charity partnership between Hilson Moran and Thames21 - a dedicated environmental charity focused on restoring rivers for the benefit of people and nature across #London and the Thames Basin. We will be working with Thames21 and two other local rivers trusts – South East Rivers Trust and Mersey Rivers Trust – who will deliver active volunteering days for our Farnborough and #Manchester based teams. This new collaboration marks the beginning of an ongoing commitment from the business for the next three years, aimed at supporting the trust's vital work enhancing the #ecological health of our rivers and their tributaries. Hilson Moran’s involvement will include active participation in Thames21’s initiatives, a mixture of hands-on and heads-on #volunteering, as well as financial support in order to aid the charity’s mission of transforming neglected rivers into valuable spaces for people and wildlife. We were proud to host the Society of Architecture and Civil Engineering Students (SACES) from the University of Malta during their latest ‘ArchiVisit’ to #London. Our environmental engineers helped lead the students on a tour of 1 Broadgate, sharing their first-hand insight into the construction of one of the London's most #sustainable mixed-use spaces - which is rapidly taking shape near Liverpool Street Station. A big thank you to Sir Robert McAlpine and Allford Hall Monaghan Morris for adding their #construction and #architecture expertise and making the visit possible.

Last week an intrepid group of walkers set out from our #Manchester office to take on the #Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge – ascending (and descending) the iconic peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside in a single day! The 24-mile round trip includes 1585m of ascent, and the team battled through the elements to be rewarded with stunning Dales views and some well-earned refreshments at the finish line.
