Net-zero needs materials innovation. Today we took another important step in making that happen, hosting the second MATcelerate ZERO Investment Committee in the heart of our Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus at the University of Bristol’s Engine Shed. This unique partnership connects world-leading materials research universities and global companies and will help to accelerate climate solutions. Bristol Innovations Director Jane Khawaja (nee Mefo) said, “Today’s event saw expert researchers pitch for innovation funding and industry partners to help translate their work into commercial products and services that directly address climate change. Working collectively as universities, we can mitigate integration and scale-up challenges to drive materials innovation forward at the rate and scale that is urgently needed.” Many thanks to our partners the Henry Royce Institute, the University of Cambridge (Cambridge Enterprise), Imperial College London (Imperial Enterprise), The University of Manchester (University of Manchester Innovation Factory), UCL (UCL Business Ltd) and University of Oxford (Oxford University Innovation).
