👏👏 We're thrilled to welcome Tom Healy to the Haatch team as our new "Head of Fundraising". 👏👏 Tom's significant experience is not just a game-changer but another solid foundation for Haatch's continued growth. His expertise will be instrumental in expanding our existing SEIS, EIS, and GP/LP offerings and in launching future funds and investment opportunities. Over the last few years, we've scaled to almost 1,000 investors, crossed 100 active portfolio companies and launched many industry firsts, including bringing our SEIS Fund and EIS Fund to retail investors with first-of-their-kind crowdfunding partnerships with Crowdcube & R Europe (formerly Seedrs) and our new GP/LP Fund with D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership, East Midlands Combined County Authority, British Business Investments & British Business Bank. We recently announced an exclusive pitch competition for West Midlands tech businesses, with an unprecedented £1m investment up for grabs in partnership with Midven, Rigby Group plc, SCC, and TechWM. Of course, these initiatives remain true to our focus on backing incredible entrepreneurs at Pre-Seed & Seed. At least 75% of our capital is invested outside of London. Together with East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA), we were delighted to lead the second of two launch events introducing our Early Stage Angel Investment Fund at BioCity Nottingham. Our speakers included Claire Ward, Mayor of the East Midlands (via video) D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership Board Member and our host Glenn Crocker, Lewis Stringer of British Business Bank, Sarah King of Obu and Fred Soneya of our Fund Manager Haatch. The event was MC'd by Nicola Swaney of East Midlands Combined County Authority and was attended by over 50 delegates. The purpose of the Fund is to stimulate investment and growth in ‘early stage’ companies – those that have been trading between six and 24 months, that are based in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham or Nottinghamshire. The total value of the Fund is £8 million. The aim is that, over the longer term, these funds will be re-invested in the programme, to catalyse investment and growth for further early stage companies.
