🏁 We’re delighted to announce the first of the finalists for the Future Fashion Factory and InGAME: Innovation for Games and Media Enterprise led Interactive Futures Sustainable Fashion Challenge! 🏁 Throughout the challenge, applicants have harnessed the potential of game design and game technologies to innovate solutions to issues around sustainability for the fashion industry. These solutions saw the use of supply chain data and circular thinking to raise awareness of the challenges that the fashion and textiles sector faces as we move towards Net Zero. Mother Ultimate Ltd, as a successful finalist, launched the successful ‘Unpulsive’ project, a mobile-first app designed to help users reduce impulse buying behaviour. An indie studio specialising in mixed-reality products, games and experiences, Mother Ultimate combines hardware, electronics and software to create products ranging from mass-produced consumer electronics to augmented reality apps and large-scale physical installations. Speaking on his involvement with the Challenge, Tim Burrell-Saward, Mother Ultimate, Director said: “We’re incredibly thankful to have been accepted as part of this challenge, as the subject matter is sufficiently outside of our wheelhouse that it necessitated an enjoyably lateral application of our processes. The nature of the challenge meant that we had to consider projects outside of our typical remit, which enabled us to focus more closely on finding the right application to tackle the problem. These are real, tangible problems, and we feel grateful to have been able to examine them through our particular lens.” Each of our finalists will present at an industry-facing pitch-day, taking place next week at the University of Leeds. This day will see select industry representatives take on the role of ‘dragons’ in dragon’s den style format, where they will consider how best these prototypes can make a difference for the sector. ▶ More details about the other finalists, the winning projects, as well as the industry partners taking on the role of ‘dragons’ will be released in due course. #fashiontech #fashiontechnology #sustainablefashion #fashionsoftware #digitalfashion #sustainablesoftwaresolutions #ifsc #futurefashionfactory
