Last week we held a webinar on how to talk about private renting, with our partners Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) and Nationwide Foundation. If you missed it, don't worry! We've summarised our recommendations in this handy resource: https://lnkd.in/gPmQKHJw Why did we hold this session? Because when we talk about improving housing, people often focus on the desire to own a home, with private renting seen as a temporary step along the way. As a result, improving renting is not always seen and understood as a vital part of what needs to happen to ensure everyone in the UK has a decent, affordable place to call home. Other gaps in understanding can also get in the way of support for policies that would improve private renting. But we can change this by choosing how we frame our communications. And the more of us who tell a new story about improving renting, the more chance we have of changing the conversation.
About us
We conduct in-depth research into public understandings of social issues. From these insights we develop and test framing strategies to help mission-driven organisations build support for change. UK sister of FrameWorks Institute.

A new exhibition – Homelessness: Reframed – opens next week at the Saatchi Gallery, with the aim of changing perceptions of homelessness. It's part of the #Homewards programme from The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, which we're proud to be involved in. We all have the power to move hearts and minds by reframing our communications about homelessness. Take a look at the toolkit we created with Crisis for guidance and tips: https://lnkd.in/eKVReygr

Today marks one year of #Homewards and it's fantastic to look back at the progress so far. We're proud to be a part of this initiative from The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, which aims to show that it is possible to end homelessness – making it rare, brief and unrepeated. https://lnkd.in/gt6_bKSN

We've got a couple of new faces at FrameWorks UK this summer. First up, Anna G. has joined us as a Communications Intern. Anna holds a BSc in Psychology from University College London (UCL), where she conducted research on how people think about social issues and the heuristics and biases that influence them. Passionate about scientific communication in particular, Anna understands the importance of bridging the gap between research findings and public understanding through accessible frames and narratives. We're delighted to have Anna working with us and bringing a fresh perspective. Welcome, Anna!
