🤝 At Ferroglobe PLC, we remain dedicated to fostering dialogue with local and national officials to address industry challenges and share our thoughts on market needs. As such, last month our team at the Alloy facility in West Virgina had the pleasure of receiving the State Senators Jack David Woodrum and Vince Deeds. 👥 The Senators were welcomed by Phil Gardner, Plant Manager, Russ Lang, Corporate Manager Energy - Americas, and Bill Hightower, VP U.S. Corporate Affairs. Their interest in our operations and their willingness to support us in whatever challenges we face is greatly appreciated. 💡 Over the past year, the Senators played a crucial role in passing key legislation in West Virginia, recognizing the vital importance of our plant's production of a U.S. Critical Material, as identified by the U.S. Department of Energy. 👏 A huge thank you to our dedicated team for offering a warm Ferroglobe welcome and ensuring that our guests left with a deeper understanding of our mission. #FerroglobeUSA #CommunityImpact #IndustrialInnovation #BuildingourFuture

D.E.P. Juan-Miguel Villar Mir. ----------------------------------------------- We express our deepest condolences on the passing of Mr Juan-Miguel Villar Mir, founder and president of Ferroatlántica until 2010, the foundation upon which Ferroglobe PLC stands today, and a prominent figure in Spain's recent history. A Doctor of Civil Engineering, Villar Mir served as Vice President of the Government and Minister of Economy and Finance. He spearheaded the creation of the multinational business group, Grupo Villar Mir, with companies such as OHL, Fertiberia VM Energía, and Ferroglobe itself, employing over 30,000 people in 35 countries. His vision and leadership were instrumental in the construction and success of our company. Under his direction, Ferroglobe has become a global leader in the production of silicon metal, crucial for solar energy, microchips, and modern batteries. However, he was not only an exceptional leader but also a family man who managed to balance his business efforts with extensive academic work, always finding time for his family and loved ones. At Ferroglobe, we owe him immense gratitude, both personally and corporately, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Juan-Miguel Villar Mir.

📌 Ferroglobe PLC’s CEO, Marco Levi, has participated in the Antwerp Dialogue on Trade, hosted by AEGIS Europe and industriAll Europe in Brussels, focused on the future of an effective trade policy preventing further deindustrialization in Europe and combating massive overcapacities worldwide. The Antwerp Dialogue addressed crucial topics around the need for a robust EU trade policy to safeguard against economic distortions and ensure a level playing field for European industries. Some of them included: 🔵 The impact of geopolitical, economic, and environmental challenges on European manufacturing. 🔵 The urgent need for an Open Strategic Autonomy to ensure a competitive and resilient EU. 🔵 The significant threats posed by unfair competition, particularly from non-market excess capacities in China. 🔵 The necessity for robust trade defense rules and a targeted industrial policy to secure Europe’s industrial future. 🗣 During his intervention, Marco Levi emphasized that “excess capacities in non-EU countries, especially in the silicon metal sector, distort the market and suppress prices, causing financial instability for EU producers. Therefore, we need stronger trade defense mechanisms to protect the EU market and ensure fair competition”. Our participation at this event, as the largest western producer of #siliconmetal and a relevant industrial player in Europe, offered a valuable opportunity to shed light on the challenges of the European manufacturing sector. #AntwerpDialogue #EUIndustry #BuildingOurFuture

📌 Ferroglobe PLC recently participated in the presentation of the publication ' Proyectos de I+D+i destacados en el ámbito de la ingeniería' in the University of A Coruña (Galicia), a compilation of 52 successful cases of innovation in Spain over the last two decades prepared by the R&D&I Committee of the Instituto de la Ingeniería de España. We are honored to have our company represented in this publication through our ELSA electrode project, initiated in 1992 to lower the cost of #siliconmetal by using a new electrode technology for electric arc furnaces and to use local raw materials instead of imported electrodes. 🗣 For Benoist OLLIVIER, our Chief Technology & Innovation Officer, “this recognition is a statement of our company's history of innovation and how Ferroglobe is a long-standing gamechanger in the silicon industry. This process was patented and sold to other players on five continents, modernizing the global industry. Today, our spirit remains, and we are working on the production of silicon for lithium-ion batteries, continuing to facilitate the transition to a more innovative and sustainable industry”.
