🍄 FA Bio recently celebrated 9 years of being in business! Starting out at Imperial College London with the invention of the handheld SporSenz technology, which mimics plant exudates to attract bioactive microbes, we have grown into a team of over 25 working on multiple projects aimed at producing bioproducts for agricultural sustainability. 🎉 The progress and successes resulting from the hard work, dedication, and passion of our team deserve to be celebrated. 🍲 We began with a team favourite – food. Each member brought a dish from their culture, and with over 16 nationalities represented, it was quite the spread! We enjoyed Bulgogi, Pastel de Tres Leches, Caprese Salad, Biriyani, Strawberries and Cream, Vetkoek, and much much more. 🍰 🏏 Despite the British weather threatening to shower us, our perseverance paid off as the sun beamed back out in time for some fun and games. We played Peteca, Frisbee, and Rounders (with endless cheating, of course), enjoyed by all participants and spectators; who doubled as umpires. ❤️ With different teams working across various locations, it was wonderful to come together to celebrate and bond. #teamwork #agriculturalsustainability #birthday #celebrate #diversity

📈 We all use math, whether in big or small ways. At FA Bio, it would be remiss not to recognize the power of math in our daily work on this Math 2.0 Day. ➕ From the simple tasks like weighing out media recipes, measuring fungicide growth, and performing dilution calculations, to the more complex endeavours such as statistical tests and mathematical analysis of field trial growth data, math is integral. It helps us identify the clear front runners in our search for beneficial microbes for crop sustainability and the damaging microbes that need to be suppressed. ➗ We also appreciate the mathematical advancements in technology that have led to the invention and improvement in PCR thermal cyclers, DNA Sequencing technologies, growth chambers, incubators, autoclaves, and much more, equipment that is key to our work. Tools that provide accuracy to the third decimal place and beyond, making our work more efficient and accurate. These advancements assist us in the exciting discoveries that propel us forward on the path to agricultural sustainability. #Math20Day #Agriculturalsustainability #Innovation #Technology #DataAnalysis
