Amazing news! One Retail have been shortlisted in the Retail Industry Awards 2024 - for launching the first ever Just Walk Out store in a healthcare setting, with our partners at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. The Just Walk Out technology enabled store provides a range of hot and cold food to go, as well as hot drinks from Change Please - a social enterprise that donates profits to tackling homelessness. The concept facilitates 24/7 accessibility, to support people working and visiting the hospital. We’re looking forward to the event in September! Good luck to all those shortlisted. The total is in.... Congratulations to Nathan Ashworth who led the charge in recent fundraising activity for one of our charity partners - Alzheimer's Society. He ran the London Marathon, contributing to the massive £22k total raised as part of “marathon month��.   Andrew Jones, One Retail – Managing Director said – “We are so proud of our partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society and our teams really do go above and beyond to support the cause. Nathan did an amazing job, by running the marathon, but also raising a huge amount to support their vital work.” Head of Corporate Partnerships at Alzheimer's Society Lizzie Pearl (née Israeli): “Our partnership with One Retail continues to reach new heights. Our Dietitian, Helen Ream, tells us about the recently launched Care Home Digest and why the guidelines are so important. Chapters include - ➡ nutrition and hydration needs ➡ delivering a positive mealtime experience ➡ menu planning and design ➡ catering for special diets Leading on this work, in her role as Vice-Chair of the BDA’s Food Services Specialist Group, Helen hopes that a clear set of standards and guidelines will create better consistency and clarity in the approach for eating and drinking in care homes. The British Dietetic Association (BDA)'s Care Home Digest has launched today. These are the first menu planning and food service guidelines for care homes to provide high quality food and drink services to residents in their care. Our White Oaks Dietitian, Helen Ream was part of the Food Services Specialist Group and Older People Specialist Group of the BDA - who worked with the National Association Of Care Catering (NACC) on this vital resource. Helen said: “It has been a privilege to chair the working group of dietitians and NACC colleagues to develop these guidelines. Earlier this year our teams were acknowledged by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) awards for Health and Safety – receiving a “Commendation” for the Fall Prevention Trophy.
