What a morning enjoying the Pride Liverpool March with my Carpenters Group people. Stop off at the Fans Supporting Foodbanks van to make our donations, then off we went! So good to bump into the wonderful Ted Morris, Chair of the LFC Disabled Supporters Group. We don’t care who you love at Carpenters, we want you to be yourself & we all count. So great to celebrate that vibe together today. Huge turnout. Magical atmosphere. Love is Love. Just Be Yourself. #LiverpoolPride #TeamCarpenters 😎🌈
We are proud to be a part of Zoe's Place Baby Hospice, Liverpool ‘The 150’ businesses committing to fundraising and giving them significant hope and contribution towards their ‘New Home’ appeal 💛 Zoe’s Place hospice have been supporting children and their families on the same site for the last 29 years. Our Director/Owner, Donna Scully, said: “We’re so lucky in Merseyside to have some of the most wonderful charities and Zoe’s Place is one of them. The work they do is incredible & it’s so important we support their fundraising efforts to fund a new home. We’d be lost without them.” Carpenters care deeply about supporting our local communities and causes. Carpenters team member, Gregory Taylor, recently attended the Brake, the road safety charity Charity and Awareness event. Here, Greg shares his reflections on the day and why the organisation and their work matter so much to us here at Carpenters Group. ‘On the 18th July I was delighted to represent Carpenters Group at a charity event hosted by Brake, the road safety charity. Brake are one of the leading road safety charities in the UK. The event was hosted at the prestigious Houses of Parliament and was attended by a range of interested and invested stakeholders, including serious injury and RTA lawyers, representatives from a number of police constabularies, trauma counsellors, the motor insurance industry and MPs. The number and range of attendees illustrated the expansive ways in which a significant road traffic accident can impact not only the injured individual and their immediate family, but the wider community. It was wonderful to see so many people in attendance, all sharing the common objective to achieve the ultimate goal of eradicating the occurrence of road traffic accidents on our roads. Speeches included those from the CEO of Brake, Ross Morlock, the Chief Constable of Sussex Police, Jo Shiner, a number of Brake Trustees and Dr Ian Greenwood (a campaigner to stop road death). It was encouraging to witness the passion of those in attendance and the willingness to collaborate and exchange a range of ideas about how a commonly shared goal could be achieved. A number of different ideas were promoted to reduce road deaths and serious injuries including an expansion of the 20mph speed limit across further areas of the UK, the implementation of graduated driving licences for new or younger drivers and restrictions on the number of passengers which can be driven by a younger or less experienced driver. Given the recent changes to the political landscape, it was very fitting that the event took place at the Houses of Parliament. Let’s hope the voices at Brake have been heard by those in power and lead to safer roads for all.’ Find out more about our Serious and Catastrophic Injury team here https://lnkd.in/ePEYiqnw
