This week has been #CleanBeachesWeek. 🌊 Humans have been harming the ocean’s ecosystem for hundreds of years with plastics, toxic waste, oil spills, and much more. Land-based waste products end up in seas, oceans, and beaches and ocean trash affects the health of wildlife, people, and local economies. We work with the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE to create our SEAQUAL Collection. Polyesters with a purpose, Quest and Oceanic, play a small part in combatting marine plastic pollution. Woven from recycled plastic taken from both land and sea, the SEAQUAL Collection is one small drop in the mission to clean both the earth and its ocean. 🌎 Find out more:

Congratulations to Eva Ellis, designer of 'Cove', created using Camira Knit technology, who won Boss Design's Furniture Prize at the New Designers Event at the Business Design Centre in London this week. 'Cove' eliminates the environmental concern of foam upholstery by using zero waste 3D knitting and SEAQUAL recycled polyester yarn.

Originally launched in 2012, X2 was our very first 100% recycled fabric to include closed loop post-industrial content from our own textile waste streams. In 2024, the fabric now includes 25% textile to textile waste which is blended with 75% post-consumer recycled polyester from plastic bottles. So X2 is textile to textile, bottle to textile, trash to trailblazer. The black base yarn in X2, composed of textile to textile waste, creates a textured grey mélange effect, reminiscent of a high-end wool, adding surface appeal and dimension. Learn more about our most recent product launch, X2 in Design Insider. 🗞️ Camira's Head of Creative, Lynn Kingdon commented: “X2 was Camira’s first 100% recycled textile to include closed loop post-industrial content from its own textile yarn remnants and selvedges. 12 years ago, there was nothing like X2 on the market. In 2024 our product, design and operations teams have worked really hard to be able to make an even greater material difference. So the new X2 is textile-to-textile, bottle to textile, trash to trailblazer.”
