What an amazing morning at County Brook Mill with design studio Wallace Sewell and Mitchell Interflex Ltd for their Summer Open Days. We worked with Wallace Sewell for the launch of Transport for London new Elizabeth Line fabric in 2019. It was fantastic to learn all about the inspiration behind their contemporary fabrics which feature strikingly bold, asymmetric blocks and stripes. We also enjoyed a very insightful tour the mill, which is located on the historic Lancashire/Yorkshire County boundary and has been manufacturing textiles for more than 200 years.

This week we've been at the London Transport Museum for the launch of the museum's new vision and brand. 🚌 The Grade II listed building is a London landmark, with its own 150-year history in the heart of the capital. The event featured heritage vehicles, vintage signs, maps, and other transport treasures through new interactive displays and galleries. Camira has been producing the wool moquette fabric for Transport for London seating since the beginning of time, and it was fantastic to see both old and new in the museum.

The judging for Mirfield in Bloom took place earlier this week and we're reflecting on all the hard work that has gone into maintaining and upgrading our beautiful surroundings at Camira's Hopton head office in West Yorkshire, in the UK. Our famous Flaxman even made a guest appearance for judging day. Good luck to all the organisations that have entered Mirfield in Bloom - we're eager to find out the results. 🤞

This week has been #CleanBeachesWeek. 🌊 Humans have been harming the ocean’s ecosystem for hundreds of years with plastics, toxic waste, oil spills, and much more. Land-based waste products end up in seas, oceans, and beaches and ocean trash affects the health of wildlife, people, and local economies. We work with the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE to create our SEAQUAL Collection. Polyesters with a purpose, Quest and Oceanic, play a small part in combatting marine plastic pollution. Woven from recycled plastic taken from both land and sea, the SEAQUAL Collection is one small drop in the mission to clean both the earth and its ocean. 🌎 Find out more:

Congratulations to Eva Ellis, designer of 'Cove', created using Camira Knit technology, who won Boss Design's Furniture Prize at the New Designers Event at the Business Design Centre in London this week. 'Cove' eliminates the environmental concern of foam upholstery by using zero waste 3D knitting and SEAQUAL recycled polyester yarn.
