About us
If the future was predictable, there would be no risk and if change was linear, there’d be no need for experts. There’d be no need for the insurance industry. But the truth is, the world we live in is unpredictable. It’s volatile, uncertain, and subject to change. At Brit, we believe that the uncertainty of the future should never stand in the way of progress. That’s why we exist. To help people and businesses face the future and thrive. Every day, we channel our entrepreneurial expertise to write the most opaque risk that the future holds, embracing the change faced by our clients by delivering a service that’s open, honest, and fair. One that invests in the new products and claims delivery they need in a world of complex risk. We are dedicated to innovation, developing client solutions, efficient capital vehicles and a technology-led service that not only lead the market, but drive the future. Investing in distribution so that we can deliver market-leading analytics to further deepen our relationships with key partners, and investing in our people, so we can amplify the integrity, agility and innovation that define our shared future. So if you’re our partner, broker or an employee we make you this promise: we won’t just react to change, we’ll create it for the better. We won’t just write risk, we’ll write the future. Let’s do it together.

Congratulations to Alex Barker and Lois Ireson for completing the 2024 Raptör Ride. 🏆 Over the course of four days, Alex, Lois and 68 other riders tackled the Swiss Jura Mountains in aid of Action Medical Research. They cycled 240 miles and climbed a gruelling 16,000 feet in sun, wind and a hailstorm! This year the event raised over £340,000, meaning the event total since it started four years ago is over a million pounds. Well done Lois and Alex. Last week our Reinsurance Claims team had the pleasure of spending a day with our brokers at the Albury Vineyard and Silent Pool Distillery. 📸 The day included a guided tour of the vineyard overlooking the Surrey Hills and Silent Pool Gin Distillery, followed by some wine and gin tasting. Thank you to all our brokers who attended, we really enjoyed the chance to reconnect and were glad to hear such positive feedback about the event and our team. #BritInsurance #LifeAtBrit #Community #Networking

Our Class Underwriters, James Bright ACII and Adam Taylor ACII, were recently featured in the Insurance Post discussing insuring property damage caused by cyber attacks. The article explores the intersection of cyberspace and the physical world, whilst considering what options for cover exist for businesses in a growing area of the market. Clients in the heavy industry and manufacturing sectors are increasingly looking to insurers to cover property damage that occurs due to cyber-attacks, given the exclusions that tend to be in place across all risk insurance products. Adam and James discuss the Brit Cyber Attack Plus (BCAP) offering, as well as the maintenance of operational technology and the rise in the use of Internet of Things. Recently, we participated in and won the inaugural Equity Sports Day organised by Equity City. The event was organised in celebration of Windrush Day, and we teamed up with Kennedys to create a team led by our Captain, Peter J. The team worked together seamlessly tackling various challenges from an egg and spoon race to total wipeout. The final was a classic tug of war versus Mimecast and our team were triumphant. It was an excellent afternoon out and the camaraderie was electric – of course with some friendly competition. A special thanks goes to Equity City and all the teams that got involved. We’re looking forward to defending our title next year! #BritInsurance #LifeAtBrit #EquitySportsDay2024
