If we are to have any hope of getting to #NetZero, decarbonising the #builtenvironment (which accounts for approx. 40% of carbon emissions) needs to be a high priority. Thanks to the Impact Investing World Forum for having me last week to explore how a multi-strategy approach – involving different solutions and different types of capital – is necessary to take on the scale and complexity of this challenge. For example, sharing learnings from Bridges’ work in both #realestate and #privateequity investment, we are – 🔁 Focusing on the whole life cycle of buildings to reduce operational & embodied carbon 🏘️ Designing future-fit living models 🚚 Meeting logistics demand for highly sustainable industrial space 💡 Backing businesses that enable greener home energy usage & lower bills 🔍 Focusing on technology & data solutions to equip investors with decision-useful, carbon-specific insights And of course, anyone interested in #decarbonisation must recognise that we cannot get there without bringing all communities along together in the transition.
