June has been such an exciting and busy month at Baltic Ventures ☀️ - We received 264 applications for our flagship Accelerator 2024 programme and were able to narrow our shortlisting pool down to 18 incredible startups after 60+ interviews. We can't wait to reveal and celebrate the new cohort of up to 12 startups publicly at Liverpool Slush'D in September! - We wrapped up our six-month Launchpad programme and divided a £50k equity-free cash prize to three brilliant teams: Emma Jarvis at Dearbump, Tom Reynolds SLE at EdenFiftyOne™ and Ally Houston at MetPsy. Our pilot Launchpad programme will now run annually, with applications for the next cohort opening this autumn. - We celebrated alumni Ittybit and Heatio closing their £1.5m and £2m funding rounds led by Mercuri & Sure Valley Ventures and Ascension, respectively. Congratulations again to the brilliant Paul Anthony Williams, Thomas Farquhar and Simon Roberts 🔥 - In other alumni news, the wonderful team at Birl are currently at 89% with their £150k equity crowdfunding round on Crowdcube. We are delighted that Accelerator 2024 Alum Heatio have raised £2 million investment to revolutionise clean energy access 🙌 A huge congratulations Thomas Farquhar, Simon Roberts and the entire Heatio team 🔥 The oversubscribed investment round, supported by Brabners LLP, was led by Ascension, with support from a number of co-investors, including Conduit Connect, The Syndicate Room, Baltic Ventures, LYVA Labs, and deep tech investor Neil Norman. Our Programme director Mo Aldalou said: “Tom and Simon were part of Baltic Ventures’ first cohort and we were blown away by their conviction, passion and tenacity as founders.
