Fantastic to see the new Emergency Department expansion at Southend Hospital being delivered by our Ipswich office. Delivered in phases to minimise operational disruption, this improved facility will make a huge difference to patients. https://lnkd.in/e-pEzwvh #Castons #Artelia #projectmanagement #costmanagement #NHS #healthcare #projects #SouthendHospital

Work on the new Emergency Department expansion is in full swing! 🏥🚑 The steel frame extension is up, giving a glimpse of the spacious new layout. Redesigned treatment areas, waiting rooms and resuscitation zones will enhance patient flow for quicker, more efficient care. Matthew Hopkins, Chief Executive for Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, said: “For many ED is their front door experience of the hospital, so it’s fantastic to see construction starting, and we know what a difference an improved ED will make to our population and our staff. We’re not just improving things for now, but this work means we can futureproof the department for years to come. “This is just the beginning of our improvements, which are being paid for by some of the £118million funding we secured from the Department of Health and Social Care last year. We look forward to making further changes to benefit our patients, visitors and staff, with the remainder of the funding.”

We are delighted to be providing Project Management services in support of this fantastic decarbonisation project by the University of Reading.

Energy & Sustainability Director at University of Reading, Director Reading Community Energy

Our biggest decarbonisation investment at University of Reading, part-funded by a Salix Finance grant, is well underway, with district heating pipework being laid to connect the 2 plantrooms in our Sports Centre to a new external heat pump compound. By the end of the year, we'll have 3 less gas supplies to our main campus than the previous year 💚 This is, we hope, the first of many heat pump retrofits to come in the next few years.

A warm Artelia welcome to new team members Simon Morgan and James Falp. Simon joins us as a Senior Project Manager within the Shell team, bringing extensive shopfitting and Contracts Management experience. James Falp recently completed his four-year Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Energy Engineering at the University of East Anglia (UEA), an area of study that ties in closely with Artelia’s focus on the new energies market. During his year in industry, James worked with Artelia UK as a Trainee Project Manager, so we are delighted to welcome him back full-time as a Graduate Project Manager. Great to have you both with us and we look forward to delivering some amazing projects. #Artelia #ArteliaUK #ProjectManagement #newenergies #careers

Artelia and Castons have come together to support excellence in all aspects of NHS capital project delivery from the new hospitals programme to reducing backlog maintenance. Our project and cost managers have experience covering more than thirty NHS Trusts and over a thousand projects from acute hospitals and diagnostic centres to mental health facilities and community care.   We’ll be at the Healthcare Estates Conference, 8-9 October 2024, in Manchester and look forward to discussing the key issues driving value-based NHS project delivery today, from standardisation and MMC to evidence-based designs and optimised occupation.   #Artelia #ArteliaUK #Castons #NHS #healthcare #projectmanagement #costmanagement #multidisciplinary

Artelia UK’s heritage PM and QS team is delighted to have supported Norfolk Museums to open the stunning new entrance at Norwich Castle as the first phase of the transformational £18m Royal Palace Reborn project, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Visitors can now enjoy spectacular views of the east wall of the Keep, which had been hidden for decades. The newly opened entrance features a light-filled atrium and includes a brand-new shop and education room designed to enhance provision for school groups and learning activities. Located on the first floor of the atrium, the Castle Restaurant features a glass balcony offering visitors a stunning view of the Keep as they dine. The entrance area beautifully adapts a 1960s block, known as The Percival and incorporates elements of Victorian fabric designed by architect Edward Boardman, when the Castle site was first transformed from county prison into a museum in the late 19th century. Working within a very sensitive Grade 1 Listed building on top of a Scheduled Ancient Monument has inevitably thrown up challenges along the way, so we are delighted that visitors can now see this exciting project coming to life. Progress to realise this extraordinary project – the largest of its kind currently underway in the UK – continues to be made within the Keep itself, with opening planned for later in 2024. #ArteliaUK #ProjectManagement #CostManagement #NorwichCastle #NorwichMuseums #HeritageProjects #NLHF
