Here Are Charles Barkley’s Twin Cities Restaurant Appearances So Far

After asking Wolves shooting guard Anthony Edwards for restaurant recommendations, here’s where the TNT analyst has been eating around town

The biggest story in Minnesota media right now is the game seven comeback that brought the Timberwolves to the Western Conference finals — but a close second is the matter of where TNT analyst Charles Barkley should eat while he’s in town. Barkley has officially landed in the Cities ahead of May 22’s Game One of the Wolves v. Maverick series, and it remains to be seen if the many, many, many restaurant recommendations he’s received will reach his ears. Check back for updates.

Barkley wasted no time in getting to Manny’s, Minneapolis’s most iconic steakhouse. The restaurant shared a photo of his visit on both Facebook and Instagram, writing “Well friends, he brought his a** right in to see us!” Did Barkley head to Manny’s straight from the MSP tarmac? It sure seemed like he’d just gotten into town, says general manager Dave Wilson, who reports that Barkley was very congenial and chatty with the staff and other guests. His group ordered “big steaks and big sides.” It wasn’t Barkley’s first visit to Manny’s, Wilson says — he’d eaten there a few years ago, probably during the 2019 Final Four — and the staff was happy to see him back.

Barkley made an appearance at Red Cow in Minneapolis’s North Loop neighborhood. It may have been the restaurant’s newly debuted Barkley burger — made with a steak burger patty that’s topped with au poivre, onion strings, and Gruyere, served with bone marrow aioli and truffle fries — that brought him in.

Next on the meat trail was J.D. Hoyt’s Supper Club, where Barkley dined on Thursday evening and snapped some sweet selfies with owners and staff. If the trend continues... maybe Murray’s is next? Jax Cafe or Mancini’s? Barkley was also spotted at Jack Links with a tote bag of beef jerky in hand; love to see him keeping on-theme.
